Tom Enders, the head of Airbus Group, says the aerospace industry must embrace companies like Google as the technology firms continue to create a growing number of competitors to those in his business.

“I think that in the future our industry will have to work much more closely with the new, high-tech companies. ...if only because these guys are increasingly intruding on our territory,” he said in aninterview with France’s Agence France-Resse.

Report: 30% of Norway’s aviation fuel could be sustainable by 2030 | Aviation & Airliners | Scoop.it

Research commissioned by Norwegian airports operator Avinor has concluded that 30% of Norway’s aviation fuel could be sustainable by 2030, but this depends on available funding. The report, which performed by Danish consultancy firm Rambøll in partnership with research firms Vista Analyse and Sintef, looked at biofuel production technologies and the funding needed to make them a reality at Norwegian airports.

Airbus SE is working on vital sales campaigns aimed at extending the life of its flagship A380 superjumbo, with outgoing marketing chief John Leahy seeking to secure orders by the Dubai Air Show in November, people familiar with the matter said.

The Airbus A380 is not cheaper to run than other aircraft on a per-seat basis. Fortunately, well-funded Emirates Airline sees a recovery in demand and may decide to splurge on the superjumbos anyway.
