6.) (video) Boston dynamics currently leads the robotics firm in the US. Created multiple animal-like robot, such as the cheetah, and are now involved in defense department for US services. Google is trying to buy them out along with many other robotics firms and are not afraid to spend money on projects.

10.) (Paragraph 9) With the founding of the electric fish's capabilities, in the future with the robot there are hopes to check underwater oil soills, build/add technology underwater, and repair diminishing coral reefs.

1.) (Pg. 5) An autonomous robot is a robot that is able to control and care for itself,and complete human actions without human involvement. This is done through prior programming before the final robot is sent out using sensors, such as sound/light/sonar, motors, and mechanics, such as lifts/arms. There are a few rules, Asimov's laws, for what autonomous robots should and should not do; a robot should not harm a human, a robot should listen to a human, and a robot should not harm another robot.

2.) (Pg. 12) An autonomous robot must interact within any given area it is operating tasks, also known as actuators. Examples of actuators are the following: artificial muscles relative to actual muscles, motors for precision movements and motion, and pneumatic/hydraulic used in industries for large tasks.

3.) (Pg. 12) An autonomous robots is a machine that thinks, senses, and acts. They do this through computers, their brains. Microprocessors are continuously decreasing in size and weight, but increasing in speed and memory. Sensor processing is an example of a microprocessing system, which helps robots recognize different sensor types.

4.) (Paragraph 2) A different approach to complex problems is creating multiple average robots instead of one smart robot. Robots are inspired by insects, such as the termite, because researchers want to see if simple robots can complete hard tasks by working at mulitples instead of one.

7.) (video) The DARPA challenge is a challenge to see who can create the most efficient self driving vehicle, prize offer of 2 million dollars. The vehicle must be able to drive in a suburban area with atleast 50 other human driven vehicles. GPS, lasers, radar are used so the car knows where it is and where surrounding things are. The vehicle took 1.5 years to create.
