World Leading Bus Manufacturer Marcopolo Signs Multisensing™ Touch ...DailyFinanceIt is a significant milestone for us signaling the rapid influx of interest in our technology, and the keen automotive industry pull for our offer.
Devon 's insight:

My Thoughts: Now hihg-tech equipment is going into buses? For the purpose of what, safety and to make lives easier? All i hear is more distractions for the bus driver, unless of course the electronics are disabled while the bus is moving. I wonder what buses will look like in the future. And what about semi trucks and big rigs? Those can't be all high-techy and electric because that technology is not powerful enough. Same goes with buses.

LA Auto Show Needlessly, Ludicrously Puts a Premium on Tech - Wired

LA Auto Show Needlessly, Ludicrously Puts a Premium on Tech - Wired | Automotive Engineering and Technology | Scoop.it
WiredLA Auto Show Needlessly, Ludicrously Puts a Premium on TechWiredThe same goes for in-car technology. People don't want their connected lives to stop when they get behind the wheel.
Devon 's insight:

My Thoughts: What will be the standards for cars in the next couple of years? So many people, now, who are buying new cars, even if they are the lower priced cars, are expecting that the car they are buying has the latest technology. Will every car have voice activation? will every car have push-to-start? What will be the "high tech" stuff that goes in the "luxury" cars? If every car has the same technology, theres not much of a reason to have a  car priced higher, unless of course we are talking about SUV's Vs. sedans Vs. sports cars. The only major difference in the cars is the size, engine, and what it's built for.

Devon 's insight:

My Thoughts: Technology and design is getting very interesting and the concepts are getting wierder. Like this EN-V, for example, the design is completely strange to us and it doesn't look anything like today's cars. This Vehicle is also made for one, maybe two people at the most. All of the high-tech features are crammed into this little contraption. When are these cars going to be in production?

Devon 's insight:

My Thoughts: This is where the right automotive school comes into play. Of course different programs offer different benefits, but what is important is that you need to find the right school. What fits you? i picked a school that has a car company sponsor you and you work for them and learn about those cars, like Honda for example. That's a benefit that fits what i need, what types of benefits are you looking for?

Automotive

Automotive | Automotive Engineering and Technology | Scoop.it

My Thoughts: This is a great school to go to if you are looking for a career in automotive technology and mechanics. You have four choices by which you would like to be sponsored: Honda, Toyota, Chrysler, and GM. These companies sponsor you and you learn to work for that company. Then, when you are done learning at Shoreline, you go work for your sponsor.

The Automotive E-volution

The Automotive E-volution | Automotive Engineering and Technology | Scoop.it
Mary Barra, senior vice president, global product development, General Motors, talks about the electrification of the automotive industry. (RT @CocaColaCo: History teaches us that technology rarely advances smoothly.
Devon 's insight:

My Thoughts: I am personally not a fan of the future cars. They aren't cars, they are segways that you can sit on. The design it horrific. I know its necessary because the technology is lighter, but do they have to be this ugly? When people think of cars, they think of the powerful four-wheeled cars that they drive every day, not some little two-seater go-cart that goes 25 miles-per-hour.

Devon 's insight:

My Thoughts: Should we have cars that don't have a steering wheel? Is there a such thing as unnecessary technology? Concepts are cool but sometimes I feel that the people designing the concepts are not thinking about safety and convenience. For example, the No-steering wheel idea seems cool, but is it necessary? Which is actually safer, a steering whell or two handles like the ones shown abouve, kind of like an airplane? I am not by any means against the no-steering wheel idea, but does it actually help us?

Drivers Not Sold on Driverless Cars, Survey Says

Drivers Not Sold on Driverless Cars, Survey Says | Automotive Engineering and Technology | Scoop.it
This latest survey and an April survey on emerging automotive technology by J.D. Power and Associates both use the word "skeptical" when it comes to describing how consumers feel about autonomous cars.
Devon 's insight:

My Thoughts: This is top-of-the-line technology. The survey pointed towards 40 percent of people not being fans of self-driving cars, but how long will that last? As the technology gets more perfected, more  technicians will be in demand. Pick a good school, you will end up being very successful.
