I like the idea of teaching kids to interact with the world. but never really considered how harshly a child with autism can be so distant as to not have touch or hearing associated with the source of the stimulus.

Social skills are vital when working with children with special needs. There tends to be a lot of focus on academics, but in reality eventually these students will venture out into the world and need the social experience education to survive. Very useful article! Keep scooping :)
