According to Dr. Levinson, the well-intended conviction that dyslexia and related ADHD are normal brain variations and even gifts, rather than medical disorders, is misleading and thus potentially dangerous, albeit reassuring to loving parents and other caregivers. The problem is that these alluring suggestions tend to discourage vitally needed perseverance and therapeutic insights while misdirecting crucial research.

These reassuring ideas were unwittingly reinforced recently by Malcolm Gladwell in his fascinating book,David and Goliath. He convincingly argues that handicapped Davids are forced to compensate and thus conquer their Goliaths — now and throughout history.

WHEN THE TESTING IS FRAUDULANTLY DONE THERE IS NO WAY THE TEST RESULTS CAN REVEAL THE TRUE DIAGNOSIS OF THE  INDIVIDUAL AS IN SOME CASES THE NC PUBLIC SCHOOLS ALLOW THEIR SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER TO PUT FRAUDULANT INFORMATION IN THE STUDENTS/CHILD SCHOOL EVALUATION FOR THE SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER FINANCIAL GAIN  FOR THE  SCHOOL SW  2NDARY JOB AS MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE PROVIDER BY USING THAT FRAUDULANT INFORMATION TO DIAGNOIS THE STUDENT/CHILD WITH A DIAGNOSIS THAT MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE  SCHOOL SW 2NDARY JOB AS A MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE PROVIDER FOR FINANCIAL GAIN BUT WE ASK WHAT ABOUT THE STUDENT/CHILD (REN)  WHO GO MISDIAGNOSED AND PUNISHED BECAUSE OF IT BY THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM!  WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE STUDENT/CHILD IS UNJUSTLY LABELED AND  BECAUSE OF SUCH NOT RECEIVING THE  SERVICES THEY TRULY NEED WHEN THERE ARE THOSE LABELED BUT ARE GIFTED INSTEAD.

Temple Grandin, diagnosed with autism as a child, talks about how her mind works -- sharing her ability to "think in pictures," which helps her solve problems that neurotypical brains might miss. She makes the case that the world needs people on the autism spectrum: visual thinkers, pattern thinkers, verbal thinkers, and all kinds of smart geeky kids.

THINKING DIFFERENT DOESN'T MEAN THAT A INDIVIDUAL CAN NOT LEAR IF THEY ARE TAUGHT AND ALLOWED TO LEARN IN THEIR WAY INSTEAD OF PLACING EACH INDIVIDUAL IN A BOX AND SAYING LEARN THIS WAY OR NOT AT ALL AND SO MANY LEARN NOT AT ALL WHILE SITTING IN THE SCHOOL SETTING AND BECAUSE OF THEIR BEING DIFFERENT A LARGE MAJORITY OF THE TEACHERS AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS LABEL THE CHILD WITH THE QUICKNESS WITH A LABEL THAT ALLOWS THEM TO EDUCATE THE STUDENT/CHILD AS THEY SEE FIT.  WHICH MEANS A LARGE MAJORITY OF THE TIME NOT AT ALL AND THOSE STUDENTS/CHILDREN GO FROM GRADE TO GRADE WITH NO VALID REASON FOR PROMOTION BUT ARE PROMOTED TO KEEP THE SCHOOL STATUS QUO IN GOOD STANDINGS BUT WHAT ABOUT THOSE STUDENTS/CHILDREN WHEN THEY DROP-OUT OF SCHOOL OR GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL AND TRY TO GET A JOB AND REALIZE THEY CAN NOT EVEN READ LESS KNOWING FILL OUT THE JOB APPLICATION AND IT IS SAD BUT TRUE SOME OF THEM NEVER EVER LEARNED HOW TO WRIGHT THEIR FULL NAMES BUT ITS NOT BECAUSE THEY COULDNT LEARN BUT BECAUSE THEY LEARNED DIFFERENTLY AND THE SYSTEM GAVE THEM A FREE LUNCH PASS SO TO SPEAK BECAUSE THAT IS THE PRICE THEY PAID UNTIL THEY REALIZE THE TRUTH AND SEEK OUT HELP BUT THEIR ARE SO MANY THAT ARE SIMPLY ASHAMED FOR OTHERS TO KNOW AND THEY HAVE LEARNED HOW TO FAKE BEING EDUCATED FOR SO LONG AND IT WOULDNT SEEM PURPOSEFIUL TO SEEK HELP BECAUSE YOU CANT READ BUT YOU HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA . NO MATTER WHAT YOU HAVE PAPER WISE THERE IS NO HARM IN LEARNING DIFFERENT AND NO MATTER YOUR AGE YOU CAN LEARN YOUR WAY ! DON'T EVER GIVE UP HOLD YOUR HEAD UP AND LEARN THE BEST WAY YOU CAN TO!
