AuthorHouse UK Book | Speaking in Public

AuthorHouse UK Book | Speaking in Public | AuthorHouse UK | Scoop.it

Overview:

Speaking in public is still one of our greatest fears. The author’s task in this book is to relate in a clear and concise way on how he can help to reduce our anxieties and give us the confidence we lack. He recommends a minimum 6 week period to prepare and during this time he will take us from a state of fear and incompetence to one of confidence and stimulation. The book will be of interest to all those who may need to deliver regular presentations and or give talks and speeches to groups of people. It will also help the individual who has on occasions to propose or reply to a toast. There may be only one time when an individual has to make a speech, perhaps at a wedding, or pay a tribute and they want it to be memorable.

Angelyn Cañete's insight:

Introduction You are standing at the podium. Your speech has gone well. You are reaching the climax at exactly the right pitch. Suddenly it is over. The applause begins and it gets louder. The audience includes your peers and clients and they do more than clap, they stand and cheer. As you step down, your C.E.O and others rush towards you, smiling, eyes gleaming and hands outstretched, you are a star. Then………you wake up. It’s all a dream! So why do so many of us have fears about speaking in public? In the lists of things people fear most, it ranks very highly. Is it really so fearful? Even if we do it badly are we going to get injured, lose our loved ones, or suffer financial loss? I hardly think so. So the negative factors are limited, very limited. In most cases they are imaginary. It’s a fact that people admire and respect someone who perhaps for as little as two minutes can stand on their feet and communicate effectively to a group of people.

AuthorHouse UK Book | Women of Purpose and Destiny | AuthorHouse UK | Scoop.it

We are living in exciting times, where God is stirring His daughters to step up and grasp hold of His Kingdom purposes, daring to apply His truth to their lives at new levels. In so doing, they are influencing others to do the same – and the Kingdom is rapidly growing stronger as a result. Patricia Talbott is one of these women at the forefront, and her book will be a powerful tool to help release this great potential. Cherie Minton, Co-Founder, Hope Force International I have known Patricia for 20 years, and from the time I met her I knew she was a woman of purpose and destiny. She is also a woman of discernment, wisdom, courage, prayer, determination, obedience, faith and commitment! For women of all ages this is a wonderful book containing Biblical truth, with application. Patricia has found such treasures in these women's lives, treasures that can be become part of our lives today. She has already incorporated many of these values in her own life, so she writes with authority. I highly recommend this book for individual and group study, for processing and for reflection. AuthorHouse UK | Last Post for the Winds of Freedom

AuthorHouse UK | Last Post for the Winds of Freedom | AuthorHouse UK | Scoop.it

In 'Last Post For The Winds of Freedom', the story tells how former members of the Navy, Chip Woodingdean and Fred Newman, become involved in a civil war at home that escalates into a war of independence against the European Republic. Their company 'Golden Arrow Marine' and its single asset, the Privateer, which they jointly own carries cargoes at high speed between Britain and the Channel ports. They witness an unprovoked attack upon two naval vessels in the Thames estuary and pick up the survivors knowing full well that there is not a national agency within a hundred miles capable making a rescue. Later, Chip and Fred survive the transition from being a North Sea trading enterprise into a well armed naval transport fitted with the latest warfare technology, and become embroiled in the wider implications of a rebellion at home. Narrowly escaping arrest and the impounding of their vessel at Portsmouth they receive orders to undertake a mission of the utmost secrecy. While at the same time, the Chiefs of Staff face the unenviable burden of re-building the nation's defences from scratch, with the onset of a conflict that bears all the hallmarks of becoming a bitter war of independence.

Angelyn Cañete's insight:

About the Author:

David de l'Avern was educated at Streatham Grammar and at Feldon. Sometime later he gained a degree in engineering and business management at the University of Sussex. Having a liking for the English language as well as for all sorts of adventure stories, he quickly read many books all about the sea and flying. After a career spanning 15 years at sea he later became a pilot. His interests are aviation, listening to jazz, science fiction, cats, computers, and flying model helicopters -because the real things scared him half to death during missions. He lectures in mathematics and occasionally in other things.

AuthorHouse UK Fiction | When Ravens Fall

AuthorHouse UK Fiction | When Ravens Fall | AuthorHouse UK | Scoop.it
A review of a debut novel by Matilda Wren published by Authorhouse UK
Angelyn Cañete's insight:

In “When Ravens Fall” from AuthorHouse UK, Matilda has created a dark tale of life in Essex, which shows it isn’t just about the glamour depicted in TOWIE. Away from the ditzy charm, fake tan and false eyelashes, lies a hidden world of drugs, prostitution and violence run by the county’s crime lords. Using her knowledge of Essex she takes us from the leafy avenues of Brentwood to the industrial wastelands of Romford and Barking.

The author has taken this background and inter woven a twisted relationship between a mixed-up girl and a vicious psychopath, under the umbrella of the classic battle of good versus evil.
