Helen Anderson's curator insight, May 13, 1:37 AM
This looks like a great resource for video creation, however, cost might be a factor.
The free version allows full library access, personal video walls, templates and editing functions, a 512MB Cloud storage and the ability to share to social media.
There is an educational package available for a cost. This adds the functions of increased storage, the ability to download finished videos, access to usage statistics and a teacher assignment tool.
I will experiment with the use of this tool to see if it is suitable for my unit on media/advertising.
Salena Argar's curator insight, May 17, 12:53 AM
Binumi claims to be the most rapidly growing video tool in the world.  The tour of this digital platform is certainly impressive so I am re-scooping to make sure I have this available for my prac and teaching in future.

Really insightful website designed to hit the criteria of the new Australian Curriculum.
It is a challenge to implement the required ICT in purposeful ways,  so look here for ideas.

Raph Svensen's curator insight, May 11, 12:57 AM

Great resource for lesson plans that incorporate digital technologies that aren't simply 'add ons' but are redefined tasks. There's step by step instructions on how to implement the lessons as well as how it links to the Australian Curriculum.

Carly Robbins's curator insight, May 12, 6:51 AM
This website has a really great infographic titled 'ICT vs Digital Technologies'.  It sets out the relationship between ICT Capabilities (one of the General Capabilities in the Australian Curriculum) and Digital Technologies (a learning area for F-10 in the Australian Curriculum).  I found it useful because it details some examples of ICT in action in the classroom.  The website also has some great lesson plans that may be able to be repurposed to suit my learning areas.  There is a lesson plan in particular which is targeted towards Years 7-8 which involves creating a computer program to count votes and makes reference to the voting system used by the Australian Parliament. (https://www.digitaltechnologieshub.edu.au/teachers/lesson-ideas/there-can-only-be-one)  This could be used in a Civics and Citizenship Year 8 class as one of the skills listed in the Curriculum is "Use democratic processes to reach consensus on a course of action relating to a civics or citizenship issue and plan for that action (ACHCS072).  Students could explore and discuss voting and collaborate to achieve a fair voting system.  ICT could be incorporated by having the students creating the the computerised voting system that is referenced in the lesson plan.  Students could also critically evaluate the issues with using a computerised voting system and explore why our voting system still uses a paper system.
