BCC upgrades its forecasts for growth to 2.8pc this year and 2.5pc next year

Both the BCC and BDO have forecast that the UK economy will pass its precrisis peak earlier than predicted - possibly by the second quarter of this year. This is a substantial revision on the previous date expected by the BCC - 2016.

 

Business investment is still not strong however - and the healthier economy is expected to be driven by households and another raid on savings.
