Imersia's insight:

One of the things that we perhaps need to separate is gamification and games. In our world both are applicable. Gamification involves various types of rewards for activity such as loyalty rewards, check-ins and recommendations as examples. These are tools we use in applications to encourage people to engage with brands and their products.

Some of our solutions include games as well as gamification elements. There are certainly some interesting findings in this Infographic and the last thing we would want to be involved with is any activity that could cause negative or harmful reactions to people who use our applications.

In general this application indicates that when used in the right way, gamification can actually be very beneficial to end users, perhaps engaging parts of the brain that can do with use and particularly as shown in the Infographic, using different parts of the brain.

As we know, the brain is elastic and dendrite connections grow and decay based on usage. The more elements of left and right brain we use, the healthier it is in general terms. We want people using our applications to be healthy and have fun while making intelligent decisions.

We need to share this info with parents so they can help their children make healthy choices regarding types and amounts of video gameplaying  in which they engage.
