These professional looking black eyeglasses are a great choice for sharp dressing men, with their attractive wayfarer lense shape and clean cut rimless design.

Danster's insight:

Atticus likes to read and wears glasses as well. Atticus may want a pair of bifocals so he wouldn't have to switch glasses for reading and regular everyday activites. Also these bifocals (In present day) are very cheap so he could easil afford them.

Danster's insight:

In "To Kill A Mockingbird" Black people have very little respect by most people living in Maycomb, unless they work for a non-racist family such as the Finches. In this picture it says in typing, "Nature has no borders..." Atticus also is an anti-racist and would agree with the person who made the it.

Jury recommends death sentence for Joseph Naso

Jury recommends death sentence for Joseph Naso | Atticus | Scoop.it
A Marin County Superior Court jury has sentenced convicted serial killer Joseph Naso to death.
Danster's insight:

Atticus Finch is a lawyer so he may be interested in a recent trial. This particular trial is of rape and murder by this man. Atticus's trial is about rape and this one is too as well as murder so he may have more interest in this than other trials.

Great Pretender

Oldies sang by The Platters
Danster's insight:

Atticus from "To Kill A Mockingbird" tries to hide his talents from his family and friends. However some people know about them and know that he takes no joy in, for example, his shooting skills. He says that one should not boast about God given talents.

The song portrays similar feelings that Atticus felt after shooting Tim Johnson.

Danster's insight:

Atticus likes to read in his freetime and one of the things he reads is newspapers. I thought maybe Atticus would enjoy doing the crossword puzzle in the newspaper becuase he reads them often and because he is so knowledgable.

stop-racism.jpg (215x216 pixels) | Atticus | Scoop.it
Danster's insight:

Atticus is against racism and believes that all men and women are created equal. The case that Atticus must defend a black man named Tom Robinson, Atticus's belief is even stronger than it originallly was. Even though Atticus knows he will not win the case,  he still will try his hardest to win anyway.

Gandalf from "The Hobbit" by J.R.R Tolkien is similar to Atticus beacsause they both act as mentors and people come to them for help and/or wisdom. Scout is always coming to Atticus for comfort and for explinations when she is hurt or confused. Bilbo and the 12 dwarves rely on Gandalf for help through troubles and for guidance to the mountain where Smaug the dragon  lives.

The-Giver.png (320x320 pixels) | Atticus | Scoop.it
Danster's insight:

Atticus from "To Kill A Mockingbird" is very similar to the Giver from the novel "The Giver." The giver is old and he has many special talents and attributes that many do not know about him. For example, most people in the story do not know what the Giver is meant to do or what he does at all. The giver passes on memories that are good bad happy and sad so that the Elders do not make the same mistakes that others made in the past. Atticus is also somewhat older than most adults and he too has many talents that many people are not aware of. "One Shot Finch" was Atticus's nickname when people found out he was a very good shot. Although, many of the younger folk dont know of his special talent. Some people only found out because he was forced to reveal his talent when he shot Tim Johnson.

Revelation by Robert Frost

Revelation by Robert Frost | Atticus | Scoop.it
Revelation - by Robert Frost. We make ourselves a place apart Behind light words that tease and flout, But oh, the agitated heart Till someone find us really out.
Danster's insight:

Atticus has many talents that he prefers not to show or tell people about. In this poem by Robert Frost, the narrator talks about how secrets cannot be kept forever and that hiding them is a waste of time.

Michael Jackson - Black Or White Lyrics

Hi everybody I did the lyrics video of "Black or White" by The King Of Pop, Michael Jackson :) Hope you like it :)
Danster's insight:

Atticus from "To Kill A Mockingbird" goes through many struggles becuase he has to defend a negro man named Tom Robinson. The people in town call him names, and children at Scout and Jem's school call him names to them and they are having trouble holding in their anger. Atticus believes that it doesn't matter what race you are, that all peopel are equal. In the 1930s or so racism was still a major issue in society and Atticus knows he must defend this man or he couldn't live with himself.
