Are your videos posted online not being ranked on Google? If so, we may have the answers why.

When you go and do a normal web search on Google, most of the time, it will yield only web-based results, with no videos. Once in a while, a YouTube video will appear–and you will know it right away because of the thumbnail images that stand out from the typical text-based web listings.

Why is this? When it comes to video, people are doing the right things; they just aren’t doing them right! They are not correctly search engine optimized (SEO). What most people forget is that SEO does not take place after the video is complete and uploaded; it starts before way before production. In fact, SEO is the first step of production, and continues throughout the process!

Most people have this backwards, unfortunately. And it’s for this reason that their videos are not getting found. Here are some of the things that you may be doing wrong when it comes to leveraging video, and why your videos may are not being found:

Facebook Pages Get New, YouTube-Like Tools For Publishing & Managing Videos via @MarketingHits

Facebook Pages Get New, YouTube-Like Tools For Publishing & Managing Videos via @MarketingHits | AtDotCom Social media | Scoop.it
As Facebook continues its focus on video content, it’s helping Page owners come along for the ride with a new set of tools announced today that will help video publishers control and manage their video content.

The upgrade means a new video upload process, and that’s where Page owners will see many of the new tools. Those include the options to:

  • exclude videos from the News Feed and Timeline, and publish the videos only to the Page’s Videos tab
  • prohibit the embedding of videos on third-party websites
  • set a video as “secret,” which will make them accessible only via a direct URL
  • categorize a video as entertainment, news and so forth
  • add a custom thumbnail for each video
  • set an expiration date for a video, while still saving its Insights data after the video is removed
  • restrict a video’s audience by age and gender

20 Myths Busted About Responsive Web Design via @MarketingHits

20 Myths Busted About Responsive Web Design via @MarketingHits | AtDotCom Social media | Scoop.it
The need for addressing the importance of responsive web design has long since passed. Now it’s time to focus on how to make the most responsive design possible.

20 Myths Busted About Responsive Web Design

It’s what everyone is talking about, but unfortunately, not everyone knows what they’re talking about. All too often, you’ll come across some information on the Internet that challenges what you know about responsive design.

Sometimes the tidbit will be extremely constructive and will help turn your web design strategies in the right direction. Other times, you’ll end up confused, or wind up going in the totally opposite direction. When that happens, there’s no need to point any blame. The field of responsive design is still fairly new, and all of the kinks are still being worked out.

Robert Isacovici's curator insight, July 21, 11:03 AM

For a website to be truly responsive I feel it is best if the the main website is used for viewing on modern phones, while a simpler mobile site, developed on a .mobi  domain be used to redirect the information to older phones that have small screens. Offering  basic information such as location, a tap to call button and an email  contact form will be helpful for users of older small screen devices that do not have  enough  memory to actually do  commerce transactions anyway.

5 Features (and Tricks) on Any Mobile Marketer’s Wish List via @MarketingHits | AtDotCom Social media | Scoop.it
Mobile apps matter, even when they aren’t a company’s major channel to their users. Mobile apps’ functionality is increasing. They are taking on a greater importance in the connection between many businesses and their target audiences.

To maximize the investment in mobile apps, app marketers need to proactively implement marketing-related features that can impact their app’s performance.

In this post, I will discuss 5 must-have marketing features for any marketer and the common tricks that make them work even better (I’ve been researching these as part of my job at insert.io). I can’t promise each and every one will change the app’s use or value, but I do believe these are features that must be experimented with. Features work differently for different apps, but there are some commonalities and best practices we can all learn from.  The features below are just examples of many such creative ideas. They may be proven useful on your app’s specific audience, as well, but you’ll know that only through experimentation. There is no way around experimenting. The upside is that there is a huge reward to finding the winning formula.

Types of Business Analytics

(1) Descriptive Models:  Descriptive models look into customer’s history to often classify prospects into groups and categorize customers by preferences and life stage. Descriptive models can help you uncover reasons for success and failures in the past, ultimately helping you make informed decisions in the present.

(2) Predictive Models:  Predictive model uses rules and algorithms to help predict a given outcome from specified units. The objective is to assess the likelihood whether a similar unit in a different sample will exhibit exactly same performance. Predictive models often perform calculations during live transactions to evaluate risk or opportunity in order to guide a decision.

(3) Decision Models:  Decision models describe the relationship between all the elements of a decision to predict the results. This model drives set of business rules to produce preferred action for every customer or circumstance.
