Paragraph under Public Opinion: In each state that the study was taken in, the public was asked their opinion in open meetings that were held as part of the study. Most people who responded said that they liked the idea of cameras in police cars. Those same people also believed that every police car has a camera in it and that the cameras are mobile. All police cars do not have a camera in it. Those that do, the cameras do not move and have a limited view.

First Paragraph under Agency Leadership: These cameras are considered to be a very useful and equitable tool that assure the accountability of police officers according to agency executives. These cameras also assure the honesty of police officers. A citizen's piece of mind with police is based on the officer's attitude, demeanor, responsiveness, and attentiveness toward a citizen. An officer's motives is actually what determines a citizen's confidence in an officer rather than if an officer favored you in an encounter with the police. The cooperation of police with citizens is actually what the installation of the in-car cameras was to ensure.

First Paragraph under The Future: Improve citizens' confidence in the police, heighten the ability to capture and convict criminals, record inappropriate police behavior, and give valuable information in efforts to assure homeland security is what these in-car cameras do. The public will benefit from police cars having cameras for the fact that they will become safer. Assure that adequate resources for the proper management, storage, and retrieval mechanisms in hardware, software, and personnel is what agency executives should do. To ensure that citizens are being protected and their personal privacy is not being violated, felicitous policies and guidelines are to be in place.

First three paragraph: Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office now has an online crime map that can keep track of crime patterns. Improving communication with the community, dwindling crime, and making people and business owners aware of crimes is what this crime map attempts to do. The RCSO’s record management system combines with an online platform. CrimeReports divulges information about local crime data, it revamps information about flow and transparency, and makes a dialogue that goes both ways between the RCSO and citizens through an online map.

The following paragraph above and below picture: The picture below is a computer map. The picture was taken from mapquest.com and after you enter an address, a map pops up and it puts a pin in the location of that address you entered. The geographic features are not very advanced and are only in cosmetic and static. A wall map and a computer map are almost the same thing. On a computer map, it places a pin at a particular location which is the same thing that a person would do to a wall map. Due to that fact, computer maps have similar limitations. When you are using a computer map and you click on a pin, no information is provided to you in regards to that location. Computer mapping is not really any more effective as wall mapping even though it may be easy to use.

The following paragraph: A GIS is an authoritative software tool that permits a person to make anything from an easy point map to a three-dimensional visualization of information. A GIS differs from a wall map and a computer map in many ways like it permits people to see data behind the geographical features, manage the maps and data, put some features together, and execute statistical functions. Professional software and desktop packages are two of many different types of GIS programs.

The following paragraph: "Crime Mapping" is used to allude to research analysis using GIS. This process is described as crime analysis mapping because using a GIS to inspect crimes is not just placing crimes on a map, but also of analysis. Crime analysis mapping is the act of utilizing a GIS with techniques from crime analysis to target context of criminal activity.

First Paragraph Under In-Car Camera Systems: Officer professionalism is what the in-car camera system is trying to ensure. It has become a very valuable tool. In traffic stops, criminal investigations and arrests, internal affairs, and training, cameras in patrol cars are being proven to be very unreliable. However, these systems never stop improving. Also, they are becoming more cost effective.

Second Paragraph Under In-Car Camera Systems: These cameras have really entrenched their value by apprehending both intended and unintended video footage since the installation of in-car cameras. Convictions; an expedited means to resolving citizen complaints, exonerate officers from accusations, and serve as police training videos is what most of these recordings have been used for. Some videos are put on Youtube or Myspace illegally and some even end up on the evening news. The best part about in-car cameras in police cars is that it is a speechless spectator. The video will speak for officers in a situation when officers cannot speak for themselves.

Queensland police are being used by a website to map crime. It lists the addresses of specific crimes. Many people think it is an invasion of privacy. Many police officers believe this is a very useful tool. The maps will get you no further than street level. Whenever you go on crimemap.info, the site allows you to find the specific address of the victims of crime and if particular crimes have been solved yet. Some libertarians think that the website should be shut down because they believe it invades peoples personal privacy. The privacy laws are to blame according to some people. They say that the privacy laws are very outdated and need to be fixed. The police do not have the jurisdiction to do anything concerning the people who made the website.
