How to Shop for Electronics in Hong Kong | eHow | AsianTechnology of the Future | Scoop.it
Hong Kong is no longer the bargain capital of consumer electronics. It does, however, boast large inventories of the most current models; plus, it's a haven for special and unique items unavailable in many other countries.
eAsianet Electronics Curate It...'s insight:

Why? it is compulsory to shop around first particularly in your own country.

Remember where ever you come from Asia has the most boasted gadgets that would never reach your own market particular in the West.

As an enthusiast in finding the best electronics with a great price it is my job to outsource and find the most unique and value for your dollar on Asian electronics.

How ever Hong Kong is not the electronic capital anymore due to a change in technology South Korea has been the leader in tech gizmos for quite some-time but remember China's relationship with South Korea has boomed ever since Samsung, Lonovo, and Huwei are beginning to lead the charge of top brand in gizmo tech today.

Time is critical and it is why many western e-commerce are looking towards the orient to finding the latest, better, and cost saving products.

Less competition and good for small business to tackle the exciting rush of todays ever fast moving technology.

eAsianet Electronics Curate It...'s insight:

Among the latest full-HD LED TVs unveiled at CES 2014, the Toshiba L7400 series is the only backlit version with local dimming. This means that the L7400 should reproduce a better image quality -- higher contrast and deep blacks -- than LED-edgelit counterparts such as the Samsung H8000 and Sony W950B. The Toshiba L7400 will be available in 47- and 55-inch screen sizes.

Upside:

The L7400 is equipped with a new Radiance Full Array LED panel, which features a wide color gamut and super-bright LEDs. According to Toshiba, the latter helps double the brightness output compared with standard LED-backlighting system. Touting "crystal clear" visuals, this series also comes with a ClearScan 240Hz technology, but it is still unclear if the panel really refreshes at 240Hz.

To provide more engaging TV sound, a Labyrinth Speaker System developed by the company promises a stronger bass response. Also available is the DTS Premium Sound suite, enabling the L7400 to play 5.1-channel DTS soundtracks in addition to enhancing dialog and imaging.

Better late than never, Toshiba has finally incorporated voice control into its 2014 smart TVs. Meanwhile, streaming content from mobile devices is supported via "Bluetooth connectivity and wireless display" based on the press release from the firm. The latter might be referring to Miracast screen mirroring.

Gamers can keep a look out for a GameNow service, which will be rolling out with the latest Cloud Portal smart TV system adopted by Toshiba. GameNow delivers on-demand, console-quality gaming without requiring an additional game console, with titles including Batman Arkham City and Fia World Rally Championship 3.

Downside:

While its competitors are refining their smart TV systems, Toshiba has been switching from one version to another for the past years. In Asia, it started with Toshiba Places in 2012 and Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) sporting a customized skin in 2013.

I personally would have preferred the firm to retain the Android iteration and improve the user experience instead. After all, Google Play currently has one of the widest ranges of free apps in the market.

Outlook:

If you are a videophile or discerning viewer, the Toshiba L7400 would likely be one of the best 2014 full-HD LED TVs in terms of picture quality. GameNow is another standout feature that sets these panels apart from other brands of smart TVs, though I won't be holding my breath for this service to be launched in Asia. Do also note that Toshiba tends to release their high-end TVs in the second half of the year.

Nokia's X phone line: What will Microsoft do with it?

Will Microsoft hold on to Nokia's three new X phones on Android once the deal to buy Nokia is final in the coming weeks? Three analysts attending the Mobile World Congress gave three different perspectives.
eAsianet Electronics Curate It...'s insight:

Microsoft that thinks more strategically at the bigger picture," Milanesi added. "The X family is not just about price points, it is also about access to [many Android] apps ... Eventually the X offering might need rationalizing, but I would argue you can differentiate geographically and by user segments before you run into issues" and have to kill the line.
