A speaker at ASAE 2012, Andrew Greenblatt, opened the consultant's four-box window, hurdled past x and y axes, and trampolined over the Venn diagram of social responsibility. By simply shifting to a tic-tac-toe board, the conversation changed.
So many thoughts about the ASAE Annual meeting I just recovered returned from, so little time to distill them into a coherent blog post while catching up on regular life. So rather than sit here and agonize over coming up with pithy commentary, I figured I'd just go with the tried-and-true list format ...
To maximize the ROI from attending the event, there are a few things you should do as soon as you get home. Yes, I know - your family and co-workers have immediate expectations of your attention. However, if you put off your post-event wrap up, you may never gain all the benefits that were possible from attending the event in the first place.
Every year when I leave ASAE's Annual Meeting, like I am today, I feel a combination of excitement and sadness. Excitement because I have new ideas and follow-up activities that will change my career for the better. Sadness because I have to leave all my good friends from all over the globe, whom I am not able to see very often face-to-face.

For our Monday Project Runway session, I built a basic Prezi to give everyone the big picture on the design exercise--avoiding the brain damage of PowerPoint. You can find my simple Prezi in the cloud, accessible to all, view it, copy it and save it if you want.
I'm moderately active on Twitter...other than around conferences, when I am a profligate tweeter. What's that all about? I use Twitter to take my conference notes. Colleagues have, in the past, asked me to explain how I do it, and with the ASAE Annual Meeting about to kick off, it seems timely.

A convention for association executives and suppliers took on the air of a political convention Sunday when the November election took center stage at the annual meeting of ASAE. In an unscientific straw poll, in which attendees at the Dallas Convention Center voted by picking a plastic blue cup or a red cup, Pres. Barack Obama held the lead over Republican rival Mitt Romney through the midday break.
