In my opinion, Art Hedge Funds are a snare.  They are exactly the wrong structure for somenone to won an asset that is 1) very long term, 2) has high ownership and control value, and 3) is not easily monetized.  It may be better to invest in the art world through auction houses or other publically traded investments than to consider hedge funds.
