Fotoii Mag – Issue #001

"This month’s issue is particularly close to my heart as, in my opinion, it gathers together some outstanding work. Each photographic essay embodies the mystery of the camera obscura as the selec- ted artists guide us through a discovery of things both profound and sincere.
Without a doubt, you will marvel at the photographic works of Swiss artists Fred Merz and Corinne Reusch, two artists who share the ability to reveal to us the reality of our modern consumer society. Through their eyes, we uncover facets which arouse curiosity and trigger profound reflections on the transience of life.
Through the work of Manel Armengol and Corinne Mercadier, we are plunged into the mysteries of the universe. Readers will find themselves wandering through their secret gardens, drawn into unknown worlds full of imagination and sensibility. Looking at these evocative images, we can’t help but experience a strong sense of awakening and fascination."

Maria E. Gonzalez's insight:

Check out Armengol's take on Gaudi's work in Barcelona

Smithsonian Magazine

Smithsonian Magazine | Art and Culture | Scoop.it

The website for Smithsonian Magazine has some sort of attention deficit but the magazine itself is actually readable...

Maria E. Gonzalez's insight:

A subscription to this magazine is $3 to $4 per issue. The March 2014 number had two worthwhile articles--one on the fate of Michael Rockefeller while on an art-hunting expedition for his museum, and another article about the migration of the sandhill cranes through Nebraska.

New York Times Best Selling Author of Cane River & Red River. Lalita Tademy was born in Berkeley, California, far from her parents’ southern roots. Nonetheless, her parents made sure their household (Louisiana West) maintained a definite non-California edge, including a steady supply of grits, gumbo, cornbread, and collard greens, and a stream of other transplanted southerners eager to share their “back-home” stories.
