Mark Hamill Reprises Role as The Trickster in The Flash

Mark Hamill Reprises Role as The Trickster in The Flash | ARROWTV | Scoop.it

"The Flash is doing quite well as a superhero television series, much to the surprise of almost everyone. DC has managed to capture everyone’s attention with their entry in the television market, with such titles as Gotham, The Flash, and Arrow, all of which are fantastic. Thankfully, the studio aren’t forgetting their roots, and will soon pay homage to a classic ’90s series by bringing back Mark Hamill (Star Wars) as James Jesse, otherwise known as The Trickster, a villain to the super speedy hero in red, reports Hit Fix.

The original The Flash series, aired by CBS, was far too short, honestly, but The Trickster was one of the most memorable villains on the show. Hamill took the role towards a Joker-esque style, which eventually led him to play the Batman villain throughout a number of cartoons and video games in recent years. Of course, the CW version of the superhero series has a lot more going for it, namely because of the production values, talented cast, and the incredible writing by the team behind the show. The upcoming 17th episode will see the return of the classic villain, which will air in 2015 at some point.

‘The Flash vs. Arrow': Why The CW is succeeding in the superhero genre

‘The Flash vs. Arrow': Why The CW is succeeding in the superhero genre | ARROWTV | Scoop.it
The CW has become one of the best spots to find great superhero dramas on TV, thanks to its surprise hit “Arrow” several seasons ago and its equally successful new spin-off “The Flash.” The CW has turned the DC Comics superheroes into two of its most popular shows and even aired a fun, two-part crossover episode this past week called “Flash vs. Arrow,” with characters from “Arrow” and “Flash” making appearances on each other’s shows. The shows succeed because they tie in well together but manage to have their own voice.

“Arrow” — which airs Wednesdays on The CW — premiered in 2012, featuring playboy-turned-vigilante Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). While the show intrigued me from the first episode, the show kept getting stronger throughout its first season. By season 2, I was completely hooked, and couldn’t miss an episode. The show has found a great mix of action, mystery and fun characters, including fan favorite Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), a feisty IT expert known for her will-they-or-won’t-they chemistry with Oliver.

Ratings: CW's 'Arrow' Hits Series High in 'Flash' Crossover Conclusion

Ratings: CW's 'Arrow' Hits Series High in 'Flash' Crossover Conclusion | ARROWTV | Scoop.it

"On a night that produced mostly lackluster results elsewhere, CW’s “Arrow” was on the mark Wednesday with the conclusion of its crossover storyline with “The Flash” — surging week to week and hitting a series-high demo score.

According to preliminary national estimates from Nielsen, “Arrow” averaged a series-best 1.4 rating/4 share in adults 18-49 while drawing its second largest overall audience ever (3.9 million). Week to week, “Arrow” soared by roughly 50% in most key demos as well as total viewers. (One night earlier, “Flash” had one of its best perfs in a while, earning a 1.6/5 in 18-49 and 4.34 million viewers overall).

In the 8 o’clock hour with “Arrow,” CW ranked No. 1 among men 18-34 (1.5/6) and No. 2 in adults 18-34 (1.2/4) and men 18-49 (1.7/6)."

Arrow Season 3, Episode 7 Watch: DCU Connections And Easter Eggs

Arrow Season 3, Episode 7 Watch: DCU Connections And Easter Eggs | ARROWTV | Scoop.it
When it comes to easter eggs, Arrow may never be able to top last week's use of the boxing glove. The episode as a whole could have been better but the reference to the DC superhero's most famous trick arrow was perfectly executed. This week didn't seem to stand a chance. No nod(s) to the DCU in “Draw Back Your Bow” could possibly compare, right? Well, not exactly.

News Flash! ‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’ Plan An Epic Cross(bow)-Over Event!

News Flash! ‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’ Plan An Epic Cross(bow)-Over Event! | ARROWTV | Scoop.it

It’s the cross-over event we’ve all been waiting for, and kind of seen coming, ever since ‘The Flash’ premiered this fall. And not only is it a single cross-over, its actually double as team Arrow will visit ‘The Flash’ first on Tuesday December 2nd, followed immediately by team Flash visiting ‘Arrow’ on December 3rd!

And even more exciting than seeing the two amazing CW superheroes collide, are the classic (but still crazy) villains chosen to headline the episodes. On ‘The Flash,’ team Arrow comes to town to look into a case involving a boomerang (why hello Captain Boomerang), and Barry asks for their help in hunting down a metahuman with the ability to alter a person’s emotions, aka Ray Bivolo, aka the Rainbow Raider. Seems the cross-over on ‘The Flash’ will have Barry get affected by Bivolo, leading to an Arrow/Flash showdown. And then back on ‘Arrow,’ Barry comes to town to help deal with an A.R.G.U.S. plot and Captain Boomerang, using his super-speed to help defuse bombs scattered around the city.

What The Arrow And Flash Crossover Will Be About

What The Arrow And Flash Crossover Will Be About | ARROWTV | Scoop.it

With two superheroes on the same network, a crossover between Arrow and The Flash was bound to happen eventually, and the CW wasted no time pairing Barry Allen and Oliver Queen together. Sure, the two characters have interacted before, but nothing beats a good ol’ fashioned superhero team up. Other than small details here and there, not much was known about this TV event, but after months of waiting, we finally know what events will bring these two radically different heroes together.

The CW has released the official descriptions for the crossover, which will kick off on December 2 with The Flash and conclude on December 3 with Arrow. In the first episode, titled “Flash vs. Arrow,” Oliver, Diggle and Felicity will head to Central City to investigate a case involving a boomerang (more on that later). Barry and Oliver partner up to stop a metahuman Barry has been tracking named Ray Bivolo who can control people’s emotions, but after the encounter goes wrong, Oliver tells Barry he still has a lot to learn. This prompts Barry to go after Bivolo alone, but the emotion manipulator infects Barry with rage, and the only one who can stop Barry’s reign of terror is Oliver.

CW ‘Arrow’ Spoilers: EP Talks Matt Nable Ra’s al Ghul Comparison To Christian Bale Batman Liam Neeson After New Villain Cupid Teaser

CW ‘Arrow’ Spoilers: EP Talks Matt Nable Ra’s al Ghul Comparison To Christian Bale Batman Liam Neeson After New Villain Cupid Teaser | ARROWTV | Scoop.it
Major Spoilers: Cupid ('Supernatural's' Amy Gumenick) might be Arrow’s next villain of the week, but The Green Arrow’s fan girl should be the least of the team’s worries. That is because The Demon’s Head, Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable) has declared war against Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). Ra’s was famously played by Liam Neeson in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy starring Christian Bale as Batman. Now, 'Arrow’s' executive producer Marc Guggenheim, has opened up about how well Nable stacks

Recently, Marc Guggenheim, Arrow’s co-executive producer, spoke to IGN about the challenges of bringing Ra’s to the small screen after the character's recent appearance in the Dark Knight Trilogy:

“It’s a tough sell or it’s a tough job because the truth is Ra’s has been so compellingly represented in the Chris Nolan Dark Knight films and that’s the version of Ra’s that blooms the largest in people’s mind. We wanted to do our own version of Ra’s.

Arrow Midseason Finale: Watch the Return Fans Have Been Waiting for...and Oliver's Been Dreading!

Arrow Midseason Finale: Watch the Return Fans Have Been Waiting for...and Oliver's Been Dreading! | ARROWTV | Scoop.it

If there's one thing that all DC Comics fans know, it's that you don't mess with Ra's al Ghul.

The leader of the League of Assassins is one scary dude no matter who portrays him on TV or in movies, and Arrow's version is no different.

The so-far-rather-absentee big bad of season three (played by Matt Nable) makes his epic return in the midseason finale of the CW hit superhero show tonight, and while the fans have been eagerly awaiting this moment, it's one that Oliver (Stephen Amell) has been seriously dreading.

Stephen Amell: Arrow Fall Finale Will Leave Fans "Gasping For Air"

Stephen Amell: Arrow Fall Finale Will Leave Fans "Gasping For Air" | ARROWTV | Scoop.it

"Is the midseason finale of Arrowgoing to reach through the television and choke fans out?

Probably not, but Arrow/Oliver Queen actor Stephen Amell promises that Wednesday’s episode, “The Climb,” will leave viewers “gasping for air.” Posting on Facebook page this weekend, Amell teased that the episode “might just be the finest hour of television this show has ever produced. You can never fully judge one of our seasons until we've stamped out our first 9 episodes. This will not leave you disappointed.”

The “gasping for air” remark might be a slight reference to the literal climb Oliver Queen will make to the city of Nanda Parbat, which is secluded high up in the eastern mountains. There, he will confront Ra’s al Ghul, League of Assassins leader and master of other characters like Malcolm Merlyn and the deceased Sara Lance. Ghul, who is traditionally a Batman villain, has been teased throughout Season Three’s first eight episodes as the string-pulling big baddie. But it looks like Arrow has finally had enough of the cat-and-mouse games, and is taking the fight to Ra’s.

Arrow: A Closer Look at Ray Palmer's A.T.O.M. Costume, With Comments From Brandon Routh

Arrow: A Closer Look at Ray Palmer's A.T.O.M. Costume, With Comments From Brandon Routh | ARROWTV | Scoop.it

Last night's episode of Arrow fulfilled a promise made by the producers -- that being, fans would have a better sense for Ray Palmer's endgame by the time the seventh episode of the season was over.

"No -- that would be awesome, but I think the missile launcher from Season One isn't advanced enough to qualify. It did kind of look the same in the design and that was kind of an accident although it would be awesome if that was the case," Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim told ComicBook.com of Ray's peeks into the O.M.A.C. Project files. "We have a different plan and you'll get a chance to get a pretty good idea of what Ray has in mind or up his sleeve by the end of Episode Seven."

Arrow/The Flash Crossover Synopsis Released, Features a Rogue You Didn't Expect

Arrow/The Flash Crossover Synopsis Released, Features a Rogue You Didn't Expect | ARROWTV | Scoop.it

The CW has released the official synopses for the December 2/December 3 crossover event between Arrow and The Flash.

The Flash episode features the Rainbow Raider, or some version of him.

No, we're not kidding.

'

The actor named for the part in the official write-up is Patrick Sabongui, who plays Captain David Singh in the series.  We've reached out to The CW for a clarification, since it seems unlikely that they would cast him as a Rogue or turn the character evil without mentioning it in the text. It's more likely that there was an error in the text.
