"Basic Laboratory Gaming, Probability and Combinatorics"

In the last decade of the twentieth century we are witnessing a proposed curriculum change in the teaching of probability at all educational levels. In curriculum design, not only in Spain but in other countries, it is suggested to start this education at a younger age and introduce the probability in its meaning frequency. The recommended methodology is based on experimentation and simulation of random experiments. For example, the NCTM standards indicate that students should explore through situations and actively probability models.

"Basic Laboratory Gaming, Probability and Combinatorics" (First Prize for Educational Materials _ITE_2010. Spain) enables this methodology.

Paper or electronic? Reading to children important no matter the medium

Today's book has changed, but reading to children hasn't.

Children no longer need to flip a page, but can tap a screen on an electronic reader to continue reading. Electronic books are now more interactive than traditional books.

But that doesn't mean sitting down with a child with a book in your lap should end, according to some educators.
