A hundred years ago, the Panama Canal changed the Physical, Economic and political geography of the world. The panama canal opened up vital trade routes in North America and Latin America. It further cemented American political interest in Latin America. This canal is one of the biggest examples of globalization in North America. Shipping was made cheaper and effective. Also it is an example of how man is willing to drastically change the environment to suit their needs and desires.

Argentina's central bank bought 630 million of dollars on the local currency market on Tuesday in one of its largest-ever purchases, a move that will bolster the country's precariously low hard currency reserves. Some 500 million of the dollars purchased were proceeds from last week's 1.5 billion auction of bonds by state energy company YPF.

New York judge Thomas Griesa on Wednesday barred Euroclear, the giant Belgium-based financial clearing and settlement house, from processing any debt payments by Argentina. In the newest step tightening Buenos Aires' avenues for avoiding paying off hedge funds on their bonds, Griesa forbade Euroclear from processing “any payments received from any source” in respect to Argentine bonds.

It's not fair to the 93% of bondholders who negotiated a restructuring of Argentina’s debt in 2005 and 2010 with reduced payments.
