MANCHESTER AS A DESTINATION

MANCHESTER AS A DESTINATION | Are you wondering where to hold your next event? | Scoop.it
First Choice Conference & Events (www.firstchoice-ce.co.uk)'s insight:

You may have known it all along – but now the rest of the country agrees that Manchester is Britain’s second city. And when it comes to sport, Manchester even outpaces the capital London as the place to be, with United and City dominating the Premier League, the national cycling centre and Ashes at Old Trafford. The city excels in cultural events, nightlife and fashion compared to other major UK cities.

The Smiths, Bee Gees, the Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Oasis, Take That... the list of iconic Manchester bands who have changed the face of pop music is as long as your arm, so it’s no surprise that Manchester’s music scene scored only second to London.

With the BBC relocating to snazzy Media City in Salford Quays (along with the cobbles of Weatherfield), the notorious party scenes of Canal Street and the Northern Quarter, the epic shopping destination of The Trafford Centre, countless restaurants and bars – this city has got it all.

Manchester has been selected as the 'Best UK Destination' by a panel of conference industry experts at International Confex - an annual exhibition held in London for event organisers.
