Geek & Dummy » How-to: Raspberry Pi tutorial part 3: Web & file hosting with Webmin & Virtualmin

Geek & Dummy » How-to: Raspberry Pi tutorial part 3: Web & file hosting with Webmin & Virtualmin | Arduino, Netduino, Rasperry Pi! | Scoop.it

Right, so our basic Raspberry Pi is set up and ready to go. You’ve got the Pi, you’ve got the caseand you’ve got a decent SD card. What next? How about turning it into a low-powered file server and web host?

To do this, we’re going to install Webmin (a web-based server management application) and Virtualmin (a virtual hosting platform that sits on Webmin). This will leave us with a convenient graphical interface for managing the Pi and a full blown web hosting environment.

Mix WiFi, Bluetooth and XBee in Your Home Automation Projects with a Universal REST API for Arduino

Mix WiFi, Bluetooth and XBee in Your Home Automation Projects with a Universal REST API for Arduino | Arduino, Netduino, Rasperry Pi! | Scoop.it

Most of the home automation Arduino projects I’ve been working on lately use wireless communications (WiFi, Bluetooth, or XBee). Or at least these projects are interfaced with a computer via the Arduino serial interface. And one problem I had is that I felt I was reinventing the wheel at every new project, because I didn’t have a standardised way to make these projects communicate with an interface running on my computer.

It is also interesting to add 433Mhz because lot of existing devices already use this kind of RF communication: http://www.homautomation.org/2014/03/02/433mhtz-rf-communication-between-arduino-and-raspberry-pi-arduino-as-receiver/
