This project has many interesting components integrated to make a cell phone. I would take all of the concepts and transfer them over to other projects. Same idea of an autonomous vehicle that can use cell phone to communicate and provide you with a modern interface. Hook in GPS, camera, and anything else you can think of and you can demonstrate to students how learning this technology must be a part of their future.

This is a great project that can be used to teach students a number of electronic and microprocessors concepts. I would scale this project down in size and have my students develop a display at a 5X5 resolution.
