Cowper Griffith Architects is a successful and highly regarded design led practice, operating from purpose built premises just South of Cambridge. Our current workload includes but is not limited to visitors' centres, public schools, college buildings, bespoke, speculative and social housing and churches. We favour a sensitive, contextual Modernism and have in-house conservation specialism, allowing us to work in and around precious, historic structures.
CGA regularly enters local and national competitions and has recently won three RIBA Awards for the new National Trust Visitors’ Centre at Stowe Gardens.
We require a talented and enthusiastic Assistant Architect with up to 2 years' post Part II experience. Candidates should have a good aesthetic sense and a developing technical knowledge and be capable of producing attractive planning drawings and ultimately, with the necessary support, assembling convincing construction packages. Applicants should be ambitious and self-motivated and be comfortable working independently, reporting to a partner, or as part of a small team.
The successful candidate will also be required to produce 3D renders and coloured presentation drawings. We use Vectorworks on a Mac platform in conjunction with Sketchup Pro and V-Ray. Familiarity with Adobe CS and MS Office suites is required and sketching skills are desirable. The candidate must also have excellent written and oral communication skills.
