We are a design-lead architectural practice with a focus on residential commissions and small school work. We have a wide range of clients in London and the country and are proud of the work we have produced over the last 15 years. We want to build on this background by developing new business, especially with commissions we want to work on - both to satisfy our creative/architectural aspirations and that are likely to be financially rewarding. This includes more large private houses and significant alterations, multi-unit residential work, country projects for London clients and smaller schools and institutional buildings.
To achieve this, we need to spread our message to a wider, deeper range of potential clients, keep in better touch with past contacts and crucially meet more referrers and introducers. We are looking for a marketing and business development manager to help us do this.
Working closely with the managing director, the role includes:
• Developing the marking plan
• Organising, developing and maintaining our data-base
• Researching potential clients
• Making direct contacts with referrers
• Arranging new business presentations
• Ensuring our internet presence is optimised
• Researching and pursuing opportunities for the MD to speak publicly
• Entering award schemes
• Assisting with generating press coverage
• Helping plan and execute social events
• Raising and enhancing profile generally
You need to have solid marketing and business development experience, ideally within the architecture, design or building consultancy sectors, but this may not be critical; more important is intelligence, enthusiasm and effectiveness. You will however be motivated, self-starting and fluent with modern technologies. Good confident presentation is important as is the ability to write succinctly and alluringly. The time commitment would be initially for a day or two a week and is flexible around childcare needs.
Salary is commensurate with fit, but as a guide pro rata of £30-35,000 per annum.
We are a small fun team in Marylebone and will welcome our new colleague enthusiastically. We have a well established reputation, great new corporate identity, website and brochure and recently were the cover story of House & Garden magazine.
