Jungian Views on Folktales - The Gold Scales

Jungian Views on Folktales - The Gold Scales | Archetypes-Dreamwork-Spirituality | Scoop.it

Jung was free to look into basic issues of Eastern and other sources, including traditional sources of Europe.

Things depend in part on what Jack and Jill were taught to look up to and back up at a tender age. Below are some Jungian ideas tied in with old and new fiction tales. The good tale deserves to be told and listened to full well. Night-time could be fairly ideal for that, incidentally.

What comes out of analyses of dreams and folktales and much else, tie in with ... (click title for more)

Learning to See in the Dark Amid Catastrophe: An Interview With Deep Ecologist Joanna Macy

Learning to See in the Dark Amid Catastrophe: An Interview With Deep Ecologist Joanna Macy | Archetypes-Dreamwork-Spirituality | Scoop.it
Systems theorist, Buddhist, deep ecologist, author, teacher and speaker Joanna Macy discusses the necessity of seeing and feeling the reality of everything that is happening today, difficult as that may be, in order to awaken our hearts and build toward a life-sustaining civilization.
Laura M. Smith's insight:
"People dare to be comfortable with uncertainty if they are in solidarity with each other...

It's hard to wake up alone now. It's scary to see even what is going on. But there is almost no limit, I've come to believe, to what we can do with the love and support of each other. There is almost no limit to what we can do for the sake of each other. This taps into the Bodhisattva heart. That's that hero figure of Mahayana Buddhism, "the one with the boundless heart." The one who realizes there is no private salvation."

The Greening of the Self: The Most Important Development of Modern Times

The Greening of the Self: The Most Important Development of Modern Times | Archetypes-Dreamwork-Spirituality | Scoop.it
'I try to remember that it's not me, john Seed, trying to protect the rainforest. Rather, I am part of the rainforest protecting itself. I am that part of the rainforest recently emerged into human thinking." This is what I mean by the greening of the self. It involves a combining of the mystical with the practical and the pragmatic, transcending separateness, alienation, and fragmentation. It is a shift that Seed himself calls "a spiritual change,' generating a sense of profound interconnectedness with all life.

The Challenge of Consciousness

The Challenge of Consciousness | Archetypes-Dreamwork-Spirituality | Scoop.it
Riccardo Manzotti: For most people “consciousness” will have various meanings and include awareness, self-awareness, thinking in language. But for philosophers and neuroscientists the crucial meaning is that of feeling something, having a feeling you might say, or an experience. It’s all very problematic. The truth is that we do not know what consciousness is. That’s why we’re talking about it as a problem.
Laura M. Smith's insight:
The idea of consciousness as the experience of feeling fits so well with how dream attempt to bring us into consciousness or awareness of what it true and what is not true...through the feeling function.

When the Dead Come Calling – Signs That a Deceased Loved One is Nearby

When the Dead Come Calling – Signs That a Deceased Loved One is Nearby | Archetypes-Dreamwork-Spirituality | Scoop.it
Visitation Dreams.
Dreams are one of the most common ways in which your deceased loved ones in spirit will reach out to connect with you.
Visitation dreams from your loved ones in Heaven are much different than normal dreams. For starters they are incredibly vivid, and real! When you wake up from a true visitation dream you will know you were contacted by your loved one in Heaven.
In addition, the main focus of visitation dreams is communication… Your loved one will likely relay a message, and let you know that they are ok. They will appear healthy, and vibrant (regardless of their state when they died) and after sharing their love with you, and communicating a message, the dream will end.

Shalit Erel The Dream and its Amplification

The Dream and Its Amplification unveils the language of the psyche that speaks to us in our dreams. We all dream at least 4-6 times each night yet remembe
Laura M. Smith's insight:
This is a really cool video. The kind of dream amplification described in this video is what happens in the type of one-on-one dreamwork sessions that I do with dreamers. The amplification happens through the process of exploration and experiential habitation of re-entering a dream. An additional aspect that I feel is important in this process of amplification and alchemy is the feelings that were present in the dreamer during the dream as well as those that arise in the dreamer during the work in session. A number of techniques can be employed to amplify the feelings, including association work, re-entry into a dream moment, moving the dreamer closer to the action, switching out the dreamer with another character in the dream, holding the dreamer longer in a moment, etc. I would say that in this example, the dreamer must first fully feel, which is to say "know" on a visceral level, the loss of the milk...the pain and grief of how the milk has gone dry...perhaps there would be anger, perhaps there would be other feelings, but ultimately the psyche, through the felt experience of the loss, begins to also feel its true desire and longing for the return of the milk. I think more could be said of the moment where the dreamer feels there is too much milk. Isn't this what we all feel about those parts of ourselves we have repressed? That if we allow it back that it will be "too much"? I would offer that there is more to this part of the dream to be uncovered… www.archetypaldreamworks.com
