N.Korea would have 'no chance' in a conflict with South: US | Archaeology, Culture, Religion and Spirituality | Scoop.it
North Korea would have no chance of defeating its southern neighbor and its allies in a conflict, US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said Tuesday, days after the peninsula appeared on the brink of armed conflict. Last month's inter-Korean crisis was triggered by landmine blasts that maimed two South Korean soldiers on patrol along the border with the North. "We need to make sure that North Koreans always understand that any provocation with them will be dealt with, and they stand no chance of defeating us and our allies in South Korea," Carter told troops in a televised broadcast.

While Supreme Court rulings have brought attention to LGBT rights as of late, transgender individuals still face challenges, particularly transgender students who have to maneuver public places and bathrooms. Lila Perry, a student at Hillsboro High School in Missouri, ignited a debate last week when she tried to use the girls bathroom at school. Lila, who came out as transgender during the middle of last school year, used the unisex faculty bathroom previously, but now says she “wants to be treated like other female students,” reported the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

A China meltdown? Why its Asian neighbors aren't worried. | Archaeology, Culture, Religion and Spirituality | Scoop.it

It has been axiomatic for years that problems in China would ripple and harm the neighborhood. But nations from Japan to Vietnam expect to weather problems in the region’s flagship economy, as each now relies on much more than China for prosperity.

Living Small: The Psychology of Tiny Houses

Living Small: The Psychology of Tiny Houses | Archaeology, Culture, Religion and Spirituality | Scoop.it
Tiny houses can make big dreams come true. The teensy living spaces, which are usually 500 square feet or less, are often perched on the wheels of a flatbed trailer, legally making them recreational vehicles (RVs), and easy to move. Tiny houses appeal to home buyers who are not interested in "living large" and would never give a McMansion a second thought.
