Two major forces in the seafood sector Japan and Korea have expressed interest in investing in value addition of seafood products in India, according to union commerce minister Nirmala Sitaraman. 

Speaking at the inaugural function of the 20th India International Seafood Show being held at Vishakapattanam on Friday, she invited the trade members of both the countries to visit the aquaculture farms in the country, particularly Andhra Pradesh, which is leading in aquaculture production in the country.

Brits willing to go the extra mile for sustainable fish and chips | Aquaculture Directory

Four in five (80%) fish and chip fans believe that all of the UK’s 10,500 fish and chip shops should serve certified sustainable fish, according to research carried out by YouGov on behalf of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). 

Despite the majority (84%) claiming that the location of the chip shop is important, over a third (39%) would happily travel further to find certified sustainable fish.

Danish manufacturer Ultraaqua’s new UV system for water treatment in aquaculture combines corrosion-free materials with automatic cleaning. The result is low maintenance and a high level of protection against diseases. 

The system is the first system on the market designed in polypropylene equipped with an automated mechanism to keep the system’s UV lamps clean. The design makes it particularly relevant in the aquaculture sector.
