Just like anything else that involves human experience or interaction, the act of learning does not happen in a vacuum. It is at the intersection of prior knowledge, experience, perception, reality, comprehension, and flexibility that learning occurs. In years past, the traditional learning paradigms of behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism have been the benchmarks against which the learning process has been measured. What happens, though, when you throw into the mix all the technological advancements that have come about over the last 40-50 years? These theories certainly do not become obsolete by any means, but they do need to be used in a very different way to be able to incorporate the attributes of a 21st century learning environment. In today’s technology-rich society, it has become increasingly important to learn how to learn. Vail put it simply by declaring that learning must be a way of being (1996).

Hace varios meses que anunciamos la lista de cursos gratuitos que la Universidad de Stanford está impartiendo en Internet, lista que sigue creciendo y que está obteniendo mucha atención en medios especializados. Este mes de febrero comienzan algunos de los más interesantes, necesitando solamente acceso a Internet y con posibilidad de obtener el material para consultarlo tantas veces como sea necesario. “Web 3.0": for those of you who might have been sleeping during your Internet History classes, this third generation of the Web is one which expands upon the linkages, accessibility and collaboration enabled by Web 2.0 technologies such as social media and content-management systems.
Web 3.0 extends the idea of a more open internet by seeking to fundamentally change the way the internet is coded and data is represented.
The idea is that if its possible to standardize the way content is organized on the web into a family of categories, then those categories themselves will have basic meaning to other sites and applications that might be accessing that data.

Si hay una cosa que me carga al diseñar un curso, es el tema de definir los famosos Objetivos de Aprendizaje. Generalmente como creo cursos sobre temas que ya tengo muy claros en mi mente, me da una lata enorme analizar estos temas. Lo que está muy claro es que si se diseña un curso que no es de nuestra expertis, será de una gran ayuda para acotar los contenidos, pues muchas veces cuando no dominamos bien un tema , queremos transferir todo el conocimiento y terminamos haciendo una cosa larga y aburrida. Y si hay un tema que tengo mas que claro, es que los alumnos quieren aprender lo sólo lo esencial.
