Desde la Fundación Bill y Melinda Gates se está postulando por alentar a las empresas a dejar de lado la exigencia de determinados títulos oficiales en su búsqueda de candidatos y apostar por la selección basada en competencias y habilidades. Algo que choca con la estrategia mayoritaria de los oferentes de empleo. Oferentes que exigen una titulación oficial cada vez de mayor entidad para optar a sus puestos de trabajo.

Su línea argumental se basa en que en la sociedad actual ya no funciona el sistema de las titulaciones. Un sistema que está dejando fuera del mundo laboral a gran cantidad de jóvenes que, por diferentes motivos, no han podido acceder a las mismas. Una parte de los cuales está mucho más capacitado para ocupar un determinado puesto de trabajo que alguien que posee bajo el brazo su titulo oficial. Un título oficial que, con la explosión de centros que ofrecen los mismos, hace que en muchos casos la obtención del mismo no demuestre ningún tipo de valor para el futuro postulante de empleo. Titulaciones que, cada vez más, se convierten en papel mojado a la hora de medir las competencias profesionales de quien lo posee.

Creo que no deberíamos pendulear de la "titulitis" actual, al otro extremo, pero lo que sí es cierto y está demostrado, que hay muchos trabajos que necesitan (o es bueno que tengan) formación específica pero no una carrera universitaria, sobre todo cuando el éxito suele venir por un buen desarrollo de nuestra inteligencia emocional, que potencia la perseverancia, superación de retos, disciplina, comunicación, relaciones ... (entendiendo éxito por: http://www.myklogica.es/2013/02/exito-3-0-5-claves-para-conseguirlo/). De ahí que las grandes empresas estén comenzando a reclutar "por compentencias", en donde se da tanta importancia a las competencias "hard" (técnicas), como a las soft (relacionales, comunicaciones y personales).
