Make Presentations Different

Make Presentations Different | Aprendiendo a Distancia | Scoop.it

With SlideIdea, presentations are no longer a one-man show. SlideIdea gives presenters the tools to engage their audience through their audience’s smart phones, laptops, and tablets. Each SlideIdea presentation is provided a unique URL (i.e, www.sld.im/12345 ). Regardless of the location, an audience can simply input the URL into their internet browser and then immediately follow along with slides, participate in polls, ask questions, or even network.

Filipe Cálix's curator insight, February 16, 2014 4:38 PM

Slideideia permite ainda importar (e melhorar) apresentações Powerpoint e ficheiros Pdf.

Não chega? Muito bem: com Slideideia pode ainda gravar as suas falas durante a apresentação. Excelente!

Otra forma de hacer presentaciones....

Melissa Marshall's curator insight, April 9, 2014 1:45 AM

This is an excellent idea for letting kids work through your presentations at their own pace. I wonder how it integrates with Keynote for importing existing work?

I am definitely going to have a play with this one.

Is Windows Taking Forever To Shut Down? Try This!

Is Windows Taking Forever To Shut Down? Try This! | Aprendiendo a Distancia | Scoop.it
Shutting down Windows seems like it should be a simple process. You’re just turning your PC off; how hard can it be? Yet there’s more to shutting down then just cutting the power. System processes must end, data must be saved, and unneeded information must be removed from memory. Usually, this process takes just a…

Issue 29.1, February 2014 — Cultural Anthropology

Issue 29.1, February 2014 — Cultural Anthropology | Aprendiendo a Distancia | Scoop.it

With the February 2014 issue, Cultural Anthropology goes fully open access. This means that the journal is now freely available to anyone anywhere who has access to the Internet (rather than just those who can afford the fees that allow them to get behind the paywall of a commercial press), thereby returning publishing to the commons, where academic life begins. We wish to thank all those who have expended so much time and labor in making the transition possible—former CA editors Kim and Mike Fortun, our talented and indefatigable former and present managing editors Ali Kenner and Tim Elfenbein, web consultant Ryan Schenk, former Society for Cultural Anthropology presidents Danilyn Rutherford and Brad Weiss, Oona Schmid at the American Anthropological Association, members of the OA advisory committee Jessica Cattelino, Chris Kelty, and Jason Jackson, and Paolo Mangiafico and Kevin Smith at the Duke University Libraries.

Half an Hour: Theories Related to Connectivism

Half an Hour: Theories Related to Connectivism | Aprendiendo a Distancia | Scoop.it
But i have some questions about my research. First i need ten-year findings of connectionim learning theory, second i got confused with telling the difference between connectionism, connectivist because some Chinese translators/scholars have had their own versions. The version raises argumentation. I also wonder if there are any differences between connection theory in other field such as grammar, linguistics, and even in computer science. Third i should be informed of the trends of connectionism in the world and even the application of the theory in Computer Assisted language learning or online learning.

The number of theories with similar names is confusing. Here is my own take on it. I have no doubt there are other theories outside the scope of this short discussion.

Move Over Google Plus Hangouts. Appear.in Is Here & It’s Really Good | Aprendiendo a Distancia | Scoop.it
Video conferencing isn't something most people get excited about. Until recently, the field has been dominated by the likes of Polycom and Cisco in the enterprise sphere, and Skype and Google Plus picking up the slack in the consumer sphere. Commonly, video conferencing hasn't been done especially well. For the most part Skype stutters and glitches…

CUED: Dos caminos, una idea…”una socio-educación disruptiva y/o una educación profesionalizada”… | Aprendiendo a Distancia | Scoop.it

The world is one big dataset. Now, how to photograph it ...

We're all familiar with satellite imagery, but what we might not know is that much of it is out of date. That's because satellites are big and expensive, so there aren't that many of them up in space. As he explains in this fascinating talk, Dan Berkenstock and his team came up with a different solution, designing a cheap, lightweight satellite with a radically new approach to photographing what's going on on Earth.
