Jared Frost's insight:

The second part of my third goal was to find a place to live after college. I found a great article with advice on how to rent your first apartment. I'm going to need it since I'll have to move out some time and won't be able to afford much with a 2-year college eduacation. The articles first piece of advice is to make a list of all the things you need/want in your apartment. I spent a little bit of time making a list, but it's possible that my needs will change 2 years from now. Most of the content in the article is stuff I can't do until the time comes to look for an apartment, but it is nice to have something to reference to when I have questions. There is even a nice little schedule at the end so you know what to do, and when to do it.

http://www.careerbuilder.com/Article/CB-2100-Job-Info-Trends-Well-paying-jobs-you-can-get-right-out-of-high-school/

Jared Frost's insight:

I am still a senior in high school and haven't even looked at community college courses yet. Because of this I am unaware of the education I will have after college. Fortunately, their are plenty of jobs you can get with little education that pay an alright amount of money. They will act as a backup plan if I don't get the kind of job I desire. Career Builder has formed a list of jobs you can get right after highschool which will be very useful. Since I love technology, a technological job is what I want. Their are plenty of things on the list that include working with computers and other hardware. Having this list available is a big relief for someone like me who slacked off a lot in high school.

http://www.cprogramming.com/whatdoesittake.html

Jared Frost's insight:

Since my third goal includes finding a job with computers, I need to know what I should focus on to reach this goal. This article tells all about what it takes to be a computer programmer. I was always skeptical about pursuing this career because I always thought it requires math skills, which I seriously lack. The article clearly states that it is NOT a requirement to be a mathemetician. It's just how you percieve computers and how they work. It also says you need patience. Growing up with two attention thirsty sisters granted me with plenty of this, so add another check to the list. The article then talks about the importance of precision. Being able to map out every variable of a problem and understanding what it means. This is something I'm unsure about, but it sounds like a skill I will learn in the process.
