F-Secure Security Labs brings you the latest online security news from around the world. Ensure that you are up-to-date with the latest online threats to guarantee your online wellbeing. From April to December 2011, there have been several dozen new Mac threats. Well, that's nothing when compared to Windows malware — but it's definitely something when compared to the number of Mac threats seen prior to 2011. We expect more of the same for 2012.

This past weekend, several podcasters notified the media hosting company libsyn that their podcasts had been pulled from iTunes completely. The podcasters received only a general email message from Apple simply informing them of the fact. Libsyn reports that Apple’s reasoning for the takedowns: The offending podcasts album artwork included unauthorized Apple product imagery. Snackr is a new iPhone application that delivers personalized audio news in bite-sized chunks for listening to while on the go. The app offers you a “5 minute snack” of the current headlines, as well as audio streams by category, including topics like business, entertainment, tech and startups, “top news,” and others. The application comes with some handy features such as being able to wake you up with a weather report, updates from these sports teams that you support and even your friends' birthdays. The app arrived at a time when we were becoming frustrated with information overload, and tweeted out asking for suggestions of mobile apps that could read us our RSS feeds. read more: http://techcrunch.com/2012/02/24/snackr-for-iphone-is-a-pandora-for-news/ Try it now here: http://www.snackr.com/

Apple is Disrupting Mobile Gaming. Are Consoles Next?DailyFinanceApple's iOS platform has provided an alternative that has swayed a large portion of mobile gamers.
This coming Thursday, Apple will announce tools and platforms to expand digital publishing to the masses and help transform the textbook industry, according to our sources. The digital textbook market has been the often-hyped 'next big thing' enough that many educators are taking an "I'll believe it when I see it" approach. So many have been rather limiting, but I'm most intrigued to see if this next iteration of digital texts actually improves the education process for the students (not just cutting costs for publishers).
