Nike+ data helps athletes know more - and do more. The Nike+ platform gives select partners access to the real activity data captured by the Nike+ FuelBand and Nike+ Running devices, used by millions of Nike+ users.
The API economy is growing and developers all around the world seem to be happy with that. APIs are an amazing way to open data and services to other developers. API suppliers give them access to some...
The Whitehouse CIO has released a strategy, entitled "Digital Government: Building a 21st Century Platform to Better Serve the American People", providing federal agencies with a 12-month plan that focuses on: - Enabling more efficient and coordinated digital services delivery - Encouraging agencies to deliver information in new ways that fully utilize the power and potential of mobile and web-based technologies - Requiring agencies to establish central online resources for outside developers and to adopt new standards for making applicable Government information open and machine-readable by default - Requiring agencies to use web performance analytics and customer satisfaction measurement tools
Client-server software was replaced by on-premise Web-based apps, which are in turn being replaced by cloud/SaaS solutions. Perhaps the next generation of software will be solutions composed from these APIs/services. All of these exciting startups are proving that developers need — and want — these services. But ultimately, building complete solutions might require a LEGO-like construction kit.
"Brand As API" is a conceptual framework for understanding new opportunities in branding. This model was unveiled at SXSW Interactive in March 2012 (though it was first presented in a raw form at a P&G GBS Summit in April 2011) and will be detailed in a forthcoming book.

Let's organise an informal meetup to get to now each other! Many of us are passionate about APIs, so lets talk about it around a beer!
We also have a special guest coming, we will announce it later :-)
PS: Bring some drinks ;-)
Today, we're seeing an explosion of consumption as consumers move the browser to trillions of apps on hundreds of different mobile devices. You may have heard how companies like Google and Twitter have tapped into new markets by offering public APIs (application programming interfaces) for developers to build apps and new distribution for data and services.
But the public APIs that you see are just the tip of the iceberg. Private APIs are being used by many companies to create huge value by offering a new way to connect with partners and accelerate internal innovation.
In this webcast presentation join Dan Jacobson from Netflix, Greg Brail from Apigee, and Dan Woods from Evolved Media - authors of "APIs: A Strategy Guide" - as they discuss how business leaders can use APIs to transform as a strategy to transform business through private and public APIs.
Cet écosystème d’API et d’applications est en pleine explosion qui se traduit non seulement par la multiplication des API mais aussi par l’émergence d’un ensemble de nouveaux acteurs qui viennent graviter autour de cette notion d’API.
Fighting with OAuth annoyances, building data crawlers, and juggling rate-limits slow you down and distract you. Singly makes API integration fast, painless, and reliable so you can focus on what you do best.
Google vient d’annoncer la publication d’une nouvelle API open source pour le développement d'applications interactives pour les espaces physiques, permettant de collaborer et interagir.L’API baptisée «Interactive Spaces » est écrite en Java, et...
Today, APIs are the API. There are APIs for Amazon, Bing, Facebook, Flickr, Google, Netflix, Tripit, Twitter, and most of the other major web services you use. Given that bits and pieces of your personal cloud are stored in various services, a developer may want to create an app that interacts with more than one of them on your behalf. To do that, they must learn how to use each relevant API. Nowadays they tend to share a common set of conventions, but each API is its own protocol. So while there’s a lot less data friction than there used to be, there’s still a lot more than there needs to be.
