Mitch Albom’s article, “Why the Beatles are Simply the Best” (2014), explains why the songs of the Beatles are amazingly good even though they are old. Albom backups his claim by listing all his reasons of why they are good and by stating the differences of the Beatles songs and modern songs. Mitch wants to explain why he admires the Beatles and their songs in order effectively convey his credibility to his audience. Whom can be described as people who like the Beatles but dislike what modern songs and their lyrics say.

They say the mark of a society is how it treats its oldest citizens. If so, Texana Hollis, at 103 years old, was both a sad statement about America and an inspiring story about human decency.

Mitch Albom’s article, “At 103, She Still Was Teaching Us Things” (2014), disapproves the unfair and disrespectful treatment the elders get by abusive people in the United States. Album provides an example of one of the unfair treatments that an elderly women suffered and the way that they helped her until she died. Mitch provides a call to action in order to effectively persuade his audience to help elders instead of taking their stuff away from them. His audience can be anyone who like to help people and youngsters who would want to follow his example.

If America can agree on only one thing about sports, it's that fandom is out of control. The things you hear screamed at arenas and stadiums are lewd, disgusting, insulting and unending.

 Mitch Albom’s article, “Marcus Smart wasn't smart, but fan was worse” (2014), defends Marcus Smart from a fan who insulted Smart at a basketball college game and from Texas Tech for not providing his players protection from certain abuses during a game. Mitch provides an incident and its outcome in order to express how he feels about fans who often say insults to college players if they don’t even get played for playing. The intended audience of this article is any college player, students from Texas Tech and people who were at the game or like watching college basketball games.

Her name is Socorro Ramos, and she started a bookstore in 1942 as a small stall in an old section of downtown Manila. Who opens a bookstore during a war? They got by selling candies, soaps and slippers because books were just too dangerous. She let them pile up in the back until the fighting was over.

Mitch Albom’s article. “At 90, she Still Is Running The Store” (2014), explains how a 90 year old women fought to keep her bookshop running even through the struggles that bookstores in the Philippines were facing during WWII. Albom provides an anecdote from old women and appeals to credibility by backing up and providing examples of what he says. Mitch wants people to follow the example of the old women and look up to her because even though her bookstore had been destroyed twice she managed to rebuild it and keep running all for the love of the books. The intended audience is people who like books; and writers because it is inspired by the love of the books.
