Despite just being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for its promotion of continental unity, several regions want independence so they don't have to share their wealth with the rest of their struggling countries or the EU in general. Belgium and Spain are facing factions within their countries who want to break away - Flanders and Catalonia want their own states. Scotland is another territory seeking independence from the UK.
