A nation that is resistant to immigration must face a 'revolution'. Estimates say they will need 10 million immigrants between now and 2050 to stave off collapse. Currently their TFR is 1.3, well below replacement level.
While many countries' population growth is stabilizing or on the decline, Pakistan's population is up over 60% in a little more than a decade. It's urban areas are also swelling, resulting in Karachi slated to become the next megacity, surpassing Tokyo, Shanghai and Jakarta. A high TFR and immigration are major contributors to this rapid rise. How will this country position itself in the global community in the next 20 years?
