I think Gerrymandering is completely undemocratic and creates mistrust between the people and the representatives who are suppose to be the closest to them.

Allie Friedman's curator insight, December 13, 2015 1:19 PM

Reclaiming the American Dream. Answering the vital question of how GOP Gerrymandering is disrupting the House of Representatives.

Deven Narayan's curator insight, December 14, 2015 9:08 AM

I agree with this. Gerrymandering is causing districts to lose representation because they are the minority party in that area. In the end, it causes House votes to sway.

Texas to See an Influx of Released Federal Inmates | The Texas Tribune | AP Government & Politics | Scoop.it
Texas will receive the most inmates being freed early from prison in the largest-ever one-time federal prison release, an effort by officials to reduce overcrowding and provide relief to drug offenders who received severe sentences.

Cara Beld's curator insight, October 12, 2015 6:17 PM

I understand that prisons are expensive to run, but is it a smart decision in the long run to let mass amounts of prisoners out early or at all? Letting so many felons out especially at once will not come without a price.  There's "578 inmates who will return to Texas will come from federal prisons in the state and other facilities across the country. The state of Florida will receive the second-largest number of released inmates with 295.

The inmates from the Bureau of Prisons' 120 prisons nationwide will be set free between Oct. 30 and Nov. 2." This definitely makes me want to take a trip to Florida or Texas, not.

The Republican Party was not willing to compromise with Obama, Democrats, or even themselves.
Rachel Jama's curator insight, November 8, 2015 1:36 PM

I think it's interesting how disliked the position of House speaker is; I never realized what a challenging job it is and how many people choose to avoid it. Especially with the current House speaker resigning, I feel like It gives insight into why no one likes this position. Just like the article pointed it, the House speaker has more disadvantages than advantages. They can never become president of the United States and even more so, they are often dragged into problems that they simply do not have much power over. In my opinion, the position of House speaker is more frustrating and unrewarding than any other political leader job.

William Menchu's curator insight, December 14, 2015 3:20 AM

Being a House Speaker is a full time job, you have advantages and disadvantages for example working with people who you don't want to work with, it is also a stressful job, you have to love this job in order to like it, being a House Speaker takes very strong responsibility that's why nobody wants to be a house speaker.

Deven Narayan's curator insight, December 14, 2015 9:13 AM

This poll affects the people. Now its harder for us to better see who's the frontrunner. This seems like a credible poll.
