All the trees on earth were venturing to become Olorun's enemy
Orunmila said: 200 trees who seek to fight Olorun
It is on the way they will remain (i.e., they will not reach their destination)
It is on the way they will return
If the trees grow and grow they will die eventually
The trees will finally decay

Invincibility is a choice. Even better stated, invincibility is an awareness. As such, it is not an entirely mental activity, but an ability to be at one with your truth.

The truth of which I speak is what we call ori. The oriki praise poetry of ori teaches us that ori is one's cause and creator. Ori is one's providence. It is the one that fills the breasts with milk even before your birth. It is the perfectly timed manifestation of inspiration and innovation. In exactly the same way that even the tallest trees cannot reach the abode of Olodumare, ori is that dimension of yourself that adversaries can never disturb.

Consider, for example, the life of Nelson Mandela. Over the course of 26 years of imprisonment he must have had millions of opportunities to come unravelled. But instead, he searched within himself to find his personal core. There, Madiba discovered the deeper truth, which was that he was in fact free, but it was his supposed captors who were actually in bondage.

Eventually, he ascended the throne of his own destiny, which included becoming president of South Africa. But beyond the achievement of the title, he has become an icon of spiritual discipline and invincibility.

The Inca followed both solar and lunar cycles throughout the year. However, the cycle of the moon was of primary importance for both agricultural activities and the timing of festivals, which reflected in many cases celebrations surrounding animal husbandry, sowing seeds and harvesting of crops. Important festivals such as Qoyllor Riti (Resplendent Snow or Snow Star), perhaps the most important festival given its significance and meaning, are still celebrated on the full Moon.

Religion or not religion – a discourse analysis of shamanism

Religion or not religion – a discourse analysis of shamanism | anything on shamanism | Scoop.it

"In the study of indigenous religions, one of the issues a scholar faces is the gap between self-representation and scholarly classification, particularly with regard to the concept of ‘religion’. So how does the scholar of religion approach this issue? Shamanism is an interesting example, one which illustrates this problem, as this term was also coined by scholars, derived from one group in Siberia and applied cross-culturally to others, which then influenced diverse peoples to adopt the term when describing their traditions to outsiders, often in distinction to what is regarded as ‘religion’."  by author Suzanne Owen

In psychological terms, we view the  proper container as ego. Building a sense of self identity strong enough to recieve the power of the transformative energies which dismember, dissolve and transform the self to become something entirely "other than its orignal form while retaining its unique blueprint.
