Getting Fit and Healthy

When it comes to getting fit and having a healthy lifestyle, most people are not sure where to start. Here are some suggestions that many help you improve you fitness and achieve increased health benefits. There are so many exercises you can choose from but choose an exercise that you know you will enjoy. You do not have to purchase any special equipment; you can simply take yourself for a walk. Walking is a great exercise. You may like to walk with someone else or you might like to take the dog for a daily walk. It is recommended that when you exercise, you do a combination of weight bearing exercises as well as flexibilities exercises. Scientists have proven that by combining both forms of exercises you will increase bone density and prevent osteoporosis. If you are going to join a gym, why not see if you can get a guest pass to see if it is for you before you join. Most gyms will provide you with a free visit so you can look around and see if it what you want. You may want to use the services of a personal trainer. Personal trainers can certainly motivate you. If you are going to train yourself, make sure you start off slowly. If you want to use weights always start with smaller weights to warm up. If you choose running as your exercise, you will find that you will burn calories as well as create lean muscles. Running and aerobics will send oxygen rich blood to your head and this will help keep you brain healthy. Studies show that benefits to your cerebrum from running could be as useful for depression as drugs. Do not try to do heavy training sessions when you first start any fitness program. When you first start concentrate on the form and technique and also your breathing. If you can master these basics, you are less likely to get injured and you will not find yourself short of breathe. Remember whatever exercise you choose, you must stay motivated. The second part to getting healthy is to eat nutritional foods. Avoid pre-packaged foods and try to eat more fruit and vegetables. The recommend intake of fruit is two pieces per day and you can eat at least five vegetables per day. Drink plenty of water every day. The average person should drink at least three litres per day. You can use your fruit as a snack instead of a one that is either full of sugar or salt. When you are shopping, always read the labels and avoid products that contain a lot of fat, sugar or sodium. Healthy living does not mean you cannot have foods you like but you only have everything in moderation. http://ws.amazon.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&MarketPlace=US&ID=V20070822%2FUS%2Fbabbooownnet-20%2F8010%2F520035c3-1a49-4602-9a3f-097d3796f3d1&Operation=NoScript">Amazon.com Widgets
