Getting customers for Big Pharma's drugs, whether they need them or not.

rob halkes's curator insight, November 8, 2013 5:12 AM

Well, this is as close as it gets to my experience to develop pharma’s new approach to its markets.
Starting off with good information on your customers’ characteristics beyond their business potential, is one thing. Being ready to help them to help their patients better is another.

It needs an integrated, multidisciplinary, customer centric approach. Which, of course is about your internal cross functional cooperation.
That begins indeed with knowing and understanding your customers: knowing how their decision making processes run and what they could actually do for their patients. To know what their very needs are to develop their care processes, goes far beyond detailing.
To approach your customers knowing how to help them develop their care processes, demands more than just detailing. Informing them about your drugs is just a small, but still necessary aspect of your engagement with them. Helping them to create better and more efficient therapies is at the core of pharma’s new customer centric approach. Pharma knows much about medication and effective therapies. Why not help?

We have seen how this can be accomplished. You might want to see more here: http://www.healthbusinessconsult.com/work/pharma-impact/#.UnzAJI1Pk70 ;   and here:  http://www.healthbusinessconsult.com/work/pharma-customer-centric-approach/#.UnzAWI1Pk70 ; ;
