It’s a great piece in terms of history; and in collecting, it’s a reminder of how wartime knock-offs are often nearly as valuable as the originals. If the knock-off was the lighter held back in the day, it’s the lighter you want today. And tips on vintage Zippo “Town and Country” lighters. Delete the scoop?

This lighter from the 60's just makes me think of Austin Powers. Yeah Baby!!!!! What a funky piece of glass art and it's a lighter to boot. It also reminds me of a lava lamp frozen in motion. Here are some details...
This pretty cigarette lighter was made by Alfredo Barbini c. 1960 for Weil Ceramics & Glass. The lighter shades from a cranberry-violet on top to blue-gray below. The lighter is made to look like an hourglass with a quizzical pull of violet glass in the neck and a drop of it on bottom. The glass of the lighter is in excellent condition, with no damage. The lighter itself appears to work, but would need flint and fluid. Unmarked, but attributed with confidence. Height: 3.5" (8.9 cm) Width: 3.8" (9.7 cm) Weight: 12 oz Shipping wt: 1 lb 11 oz Via Elsies Attic Delete the scoop?
