A pesar de que las estadísticas indican que de todos los experimentos realizados en animales, solo el 0,19% representa aquellos dedicados a probar productos cosméticos, considero que deberían reducirse al 0% en aquellos casos en que se les genere un dolor innecesario al animal. En esta noticia, Jacqueline Traide denuncia el trato que reciben los animales empleados para testar productos cosméticos, sometiéndose valientemente  a dicho maltrato de forma pública en un centro comercial. Pese a que los animales no tengan derechos, sí que son seres sensibles y por tanto son objeto de protección. Así lo considera la constitución y además hay una regulación en la UE basada en 5 libertades: 

1. Estar libres de sed y hambre

2. Estar libres de incomodidad

3. Estar libres de dolor, lesiones y enfermedad salvo que sea necesario

4. Han de tener la libertad de expresar un comportamiento normal

5. Estar libres de miedo y angustia

 

Considero que únicamente en el caso de que sea totalmente necesario emplear un animal para experimentación, ha de ser tratado en todo momento  con máximo cuidado, tratando de producirle el mínimo dolor, malestar o incomodidad.
