Bloom's Literary Reference

"Conrad's method in Heart of Darkness was to weave a tapestry of many complexities through his peculiar use of symbolic language. Symbols in Conrad are not given at one time fully; the reader gets the fullness of a Conradian symbol in stages, in voices heard and reheard with the phrase altered but the tone kept to the same pitch."

andrew lemieux's insight:

Frankenstein is a violent monster who was created in the form of a human. He is larger than normal, and this strikes fear into the townspeople.
