A very important battle that basically save democracy in its earliest forms.  If the Greeks did not stop the Persians the whole history of Western civilization would not be the what we know today.  The Greeks used the geography of the land to limit the effectivness of the Persian Army's numerical superiority and the use of their cavalry.
