Amanda Duvall's curator insight, November 27, 2013 12:37 AM

In Cansadurai Cave was discovered four human skeletons dated about 6,400 years ago. A small landfill from the outer part of the cave must have taken place when the bodies had been newly interred. The bodies consist of a male adult, sub adult, and two children. The adult male was accompanied by various burial goods including a two handled drinking vessel and joints of meat. Under the left arm a polished pandate was found. Later a stronger landslip took place and remainings of the last bodies placed over. Researchers found a shard of a cup contained with oxalate  and barely corn. This is the earliest scientific evidence of observer found in Europe.
