'Why is it when death is near, the weather is never good?' Nitocris thought to herself. It was so hot that it gave the fear in her mouth a sweet, raw flavor. She was tickled to feel any emotion. It had been a month since she had felt anything other than anger and revenge...

Knowing-Nubia - Al-Ahram Weekly | Ancient Egypt and Nubia | Scoop.it

New hypotheses, though, attest to Nubian civilizations being the origin of ancient Egypt. In other words, the ancient Nubians were the progenitors, and their cattle-based culture, the precursor of the Egyptian civilization.

Shonda Brock's insight:

"It is reasonable to presume that the status of royal women in ancient Nubia was far more significant than in ancient Egypt."

Shonda Brock shares her "what if" story as a guest on Alicia McCalla's blog.

"Have you ever been dying to tell a story, yet at the same time afraid to tell it?  I don’t mean just any around-the-way tale, but a true story that happened to you and no one else knows. I’m talking about every time you think to open your mouth to tell it, your heart starts pounding, your tongue becomes the Sahara Desert and the fear of saying it out loud makes you change your mind." The Egyptian Gods' 8 Biggest Dick Moves

The Egyptian Gods' 8 Biggest Dick Moves | Ancient Egypt and Nubia | Scoop.it
Compared to some ancient religions, the Egyptian gods were pretty chill. They rarely tried to wipe out humanity, get in drunken bar brawls with their own followers, or eat their own babies — although "rarely" is not "never," and Ra, Horus and the rest definitely had their moments of divine dickishness. Here are a few.

Ancient Egypt and Nubia have a complex and interweaving history, at various times dominating and influencing each other. (Egypt’s 25th dynasty was a Nubian one.) During all this co-mingling, some Egyptian Deities came to Nubia, Isis among them. Probably established in Nubia around 1950 BCE (when Egypt was dominant and Nubian royalty adopted much Egyptian custom), Isis has long been a Nubian Goddess. Isis was known throughout Nubia as The Great Lady of Nubia.

If Egyptians had better health than we have now, it really makes me question if such practices that include expensive technology and machinery is better? I did not know that ancient egyptians were this knowledgable and were great doctors. The article says that if someone received their training in Egypt, that they were considered highly praised. The article explores the different paths the ancients looked into such as dream interpretations and psychology. I never would have though how intricate their field of medicine was in that time period!
