This is a great visualization of the civilization of how the Aztecs/Mayans were the descendants of the Olmec people. This is a sort of family tree explanation that gives you an idea of heritage from one time era to the next.

Andrea Arminguay's insight:

I just wanna give my humble opinion, the years to God are not the same amount of time as for us. There is a bible verse where it says that a year for us is only a day to God. Starting from that point, i don't think we can measure human years and God's years. Also, a day of creation (for example, when God created the heavens and earth day 1) was not a period of 24 hours. I know this because i have studied the bible and I have plenty of reasons to believe that it does not contradict itself.

Egypt: The Old State Returns, but Will It Last? | Al Akhbar English | Ancient cities | Scoop.it
The struggle for power in Egypt will not end anytime soon. That is, despite the fact that the Egyptian army was able to wrest control of the situation in their confrontation with the Muslim Brotherhood.
Andrea Arminguay's insight:

it is really sad that Egypt is going through all this situation after having a very dominant and powerful empire. As much as we wanna think about it, greed for power has always been the reason why powerful old empires came to a collapse.

This is an excellent and useful venn diagram drawing to understanding the differences in the Harappans and the Aryans. This is an easy method to compare and contrast these two settlements when preparing for a test.

Kelsey Cherise Quates's curator insight, April 16, 2014 11:29 PM

In my opinion these two civilizations weren't more special than the other one, they each had their unique way of living and populating. The Harappans were more economically built than the Aryans but they both had the same knowledge of how to survive and thrive.

Esmeralda Garcia's curator insight, May 7, 2014 7:37 PM

The first settlements in India were located along the Indus River.  Mohenjodaro was one of the early cities in the Harappan civilization.  They flourished between 2300 BC.E to about 1700 BCE.  The next civilization were the Aryans.
