"Boxer at Rest" was excavated in Rome in 1885 near the ancient Baths of Constantine.

This sculpture from Helenistic period  (331–23 B.C.) show the realistic expresions in the fase and the body scars of the boxer who is represented just at the moment that he turn his head when is called to be back to the arena from his rest time. This scupture normally resides at the Palazzo Massimo museum.

 The Metropolitan Museum of Art is where you can find “The boxer” which is an ancient masterpiece that was found in the Hellenistic age (331-23B.C). The bronze sculpture is a image of a boxer who is sitting down resting, wearing only shorts meanwhile his face in turned to the side as if someone was calling his name.

Interesting facts can arise from the studies of this ancient cities found in Mexico and if there is a possibility of more findings, them the word have a lot more reasons to stop wasting money in nonsense territorial and religious wars and directing this resources to uncover history and pass human knowledge. Perhaps under those buried cities we can find the answers to many of the questions we are so eagle looking for.

The cave, located about 25 metres underground, consists of what is known to be the earliest known figurative drawings in the world.

Is a good thing the Unesco give this ancient painting a place in the UN list of valuable sites to be preserve. Prehistoric cave in southern France containing the earliest known figurative drawings in the Ardeche region discovery in 1994, contains more than 1,000 drawings dating back some 36,000 years to what is believed to be the first human culture in Europe.UNESCO said.

"The large number of over 1,000 drawings covering over 8,500 square metres (90,000 square feet), as well as their high artistic and aesthetic quality, make Grotte Chauvet an exceptional testimony of prehistoric cave art."

This interesting article explain the importance of mirrors in ancient times and how this objects allow people to see themself, meant that for the first time from Iron Age times people, about 2,500 years ago, were no longer reliant on others to tell them how they looked.

The reflection from a mirror was used in divination – attempts to predict events, or peoples fate. Mirrors were also used to evoke light or the vehicle of the soul.

The new exhibition Ancient lives: new discoveries highlights some of the remarkable findings that have been made using this method, bringing together a selection of eight mummies from the  British Museum’s collection.

Through objects from the British Museum collection and an immensely generous loan of 250 objects from Naples, Pompeii and Herculaneum – many of which have never been seen outside Italy – the exhibition will focus on the daily lives of the ordinary people who lived there.

 We can see these wonderful objects now because of the tragedy which struck in AD 79 that preserve the city of Herculaneum and also the city of Pompeii in a way we can visit the houses and observe ordinary live objects that were  carbonised (turned into charcoal) by the 4-500 degree Celsius volcanic avalanche that engulfed the city.

Glass blowing was probably the greatest single advance in glass technology.  This revolutionary process was discovered around the middle of the first century BC and seems to have been practiced from the first century AD , but before this time interesting process and ways of producing glass  through history were also made only it was expensive and time consuming to produce.
