As part of a study of the Great Depression, students in this 5th grade class wrote poetry for two voices using authentic photos from the era as their starting point.  The resulting poems were loaded on Voicethread.  Well worth checking out.

Mission 1: “For Crown or Colony?” puts players in the shoes of Nat Wheeler, a printer’s apprentice in 1770 Boston.

Mission 2:  "Flight to Freedom" allows players to take on the character of Lucy King, a 14-year-old slave in 1848 Kentucky.
