Conrad Murray ordered to meet with Katherine Jackson's lawyers

A judge ordered Conrad Murray to meet with Katherine Jackson's lawyers for a deposition in her wrongful death lawsuit against concert promoter AEG Live.
Andrea Pastorino's insight:

AEG Live should not be accused of killing Michael Jackson.  Can they really be accused of that when they just wanted Michael Jackson to continue on in his very successful career?  Why wouldn't Murray say anything?  He should be trying to get out of this!

DNA tests after arrest? Some justices not so sure

DNA tests after arrest? Some justices not so sure | Amendmentss?!? | Scoop.it
The U.S. Supreme Court offered a surprising amount of concern Tuesday about states laws allowing police to collect a DNA sample of anyone arrested -- but not yet convicted -- of serious crimes.
Andrea Pastorino's insight:

I feel as if this is a necessary task to perform in a circumstance such as Alonzo King Jr's case. I'm not saying that the government/police should take it TOO far to the point where they have to take a sample from EVERY case, but it should be used in a case of higher importance.  This could help solve a lot of murder or rape crime problems.

Michigan man gets probation in death of 360-pound wife

Michigan man gets probation in death of 360-pound wife | Amendmentss?!? | Scoop.it
A Detroit-area man who authorities say allowed his 360-pound wife to fester and die in a bed surrounded by her own waste avoided prison Wednesday when a judge sentenced him to probation.
Andrea Pastorino's insight:

Michael Brooks clearly enjoyed the rights guaranteed by the sixth Amendment. His trial was Public, otherways we would's be able to read this new. I posted it because I don't understand why the judge sentenced him to probation insted of prison. It doesn't make sense to send him to jail because he took care of her for two decades? Is that enough?

Bad laws would hurt good drones

Bad laws would hurt good drones | Amendmentss?!? | Scoop.it
Ryan Calo says drones have a bad reputation, but laws to inhibit their use could hurt development of their creative possibilities.
Andrea Pastorino's insight:

The use of drones in the United States should be able to be used in cases when necessary.  It is a great use of technology!  If it can go as far as just sensing a gun or illegal drugs somewhere, that would be great!  But if it gets to the point where the government can just see what you have where, then that is way too far.  Drones could be used for countless cases today.

Good story! Most associate only the negative uses of these devices which can invade their sense of privacy.
Michael Chmielewski's comment, April 19, 2013 1:26 PM
I completely agree. If we went through with the drones, it would be putting a lot of trust in for our government. We would have to trust them not to invade our privacy. But yeah, I agree about the sensing of illegal drugs or a gun or anything bad, it would be great if we had drones to find those things and stop all of these attacks.

N.J. mother arrested, pressured into giving up guns after reading Constitution

N.J. mother arrested, pressured into giving up guns after reading Constitution | Amendmentss?!? | Scoop.it
After attending a tax dispute forum where she read the Constitution, Eileen Hart, a mother from Newfield, NJ., was arrested, called a "terroristic threat" and p
Andrea Pastorino's insight:

This is a very interesting article. A woman, Eileen Hart, tries to defend her fifth Amendment and to obtain the right prize for her home. However she also had to fight for other two Constitutional rights:
- “Sit down and shut up,” was what she was told, clearly violating her First Amendment, the part regarding her Freedom of Speech
- She's seen her 4th Amendment violated too, when one of the men stole her license and when the police arrested her without any real proof or evidence.

Hundreds of family pets, protected species killed by little known federal agency

Hundreds of family pets, protected species killed by little known federal agency | Amendmentss?!? | Scoop.it
Maggie’s death in 2011 is part of a long pattern of accidental killings by Wildlife Services, a little-known branch of the U.S.
Andrea Pastorino's insight:

Doesn't this "preventive" hunting violate the 4th Amendment of the United States' Constitution? It clearly states:" The right of the people to be seucre in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures [...]"
Is it Constitutional to hid deadly traps in the grass, waiting for a supposed wild animal to find them? I think it violates people's security, especially if those traps are placed very close to urban centers. The Government doesn't have the right to harm and kill family's pets and to put in serious danger children's life with traps and poison.
